rlm@2 3 Tomoyo's Love
rlm@2 4
rlm@2 5 by that that walrusy guy you all know and love[tehwalrus@gmail.com]
rlm@2 6
rlm@2 7 It started off with a dove and the expression that it made on the face of
rlm@2 8 Tomoyo's love. Sakura smiled brightly as she watched the bird with happiness
rlm@2 9 plain writ upon her cheeks, a picturesque moment Tomoyo would cherish for
rlm@2 10 weeks. And yet there was sadness there, not in Sakura's but Tomoyo's own. Both
rlm@2 11 the girls have grown from the small children you have known, but as far as
rlm@2 12 Time's wings have flown they have done naught to heal pains in hearts depths
rlm@2 13 unknown.
rlm@2 14
rlm@2 15 The day is black and white in Tomoyo's eyes, with a spray of pink surprise, a
rlm@2 16 feeling of love she feared was all lies, but if Sakura knew, if she would only
rlm@2 17 realize... but where would Tomoyo then be? In Sakura's arms or thrown out the
rlm@2 18 door? Nay, such insecurity she needs must ignore, she must play it safe with
rlm@2 19 her love, hide, cage it safely inside so Sakura could not see accidentally. And
rlm@2 20 that was hard. Sakura brought it welling forth with a single word or look, even
rlm@2 21 the most simple sight. And thus Tomoyo swayed back and forth, heaving sighs of
rlm@2 22 delight or sitting silently in Sakura's light, fearing she might put it out and
rlm@2 23 be alone in the night... her heart, the site of many a battle, her Reasoning a
rlm@2 24 stalwart knight to push back the overwhelming tide of uncertainties and doubts
rlm@2 25 that comes blazing forth to try and open the cage's door, to make certain she
rlm@2 26 could hide her love no more, to push her feelings to the fore, for good or ill,
rlm@2 27 and then wait and see if her heart was beating still or dashed upon the cold
rlm@2 28 hard floor.
rlm@2 29
rlm@2 30 To put a word of her loving forth... it is more than Tomoyo's life is worth. To
rlm@2 31 say those simple words, a task more monumental than all else for she must fight
rlm@2 32 herself and Tomoyo did not even know which side of the battle she cheered.
rlm@2 33
rlm@2 34 "Tomoyo-chan? Are you okay? You haven't said much since we've come, and it was
rlm@2 35 your idea to watch the birds in the park."
rlm@2 36
rlm@2 37 She had invited Sakura here indeed, for she knew she must soon decide, step
rlm@2 38 over that great divide, she must choose the winning side. For she had not
rlm@2 39 forever, that hope had died, she must either take to Sakura's side or be
rlm@2 40 roughly shoved aside and be left behind. Syaoran Li and a few like him chased
rlm@2 41 after Sakura's magic, and while the mess it made of thier lives was tragic
rlm@2 42 [poor Meilin, to have told and been given such a shoulder cold, though I'm sure
rlm@2 43 she still expects to be the one beside him when they are old] and while they
rlm@2 44 were better than the new crowd who wished only to have the beauty who broke the
rlm@2 45 mold, none sought her heart to cherish and hold, so perhaps it is a must for
rlm@2 46 Tomoyo to be bold and do just that, to keep it warm from cold, to love forever,
rlm@2 47 Sakura close to hold...
rlm@2 48
rlm@2 49 Sakura was one who loved foremost, and she gave it to all unknowning and
rlm@2 50 misunderstanding, misrepresenting her emotions to those most dear to her,
rlm@2 51 strength as fear, respect as love... How could Tomoyo know where she stands?
rlm@2 52 And so.
rlm@2 53
rlm@2 54 "Sakura-chan... I love you."
rlm@2 55
rlm@2 56 And so the dove, in it's simple flight unfolds the complexities of love. But of
rlm@2 57 course it is not finished yet, not the end but not even the start, Sakura's
rlm@2 58 understanding does not fly straight as the dart. So the waiting is even more
rlm@2 59 painful for the one most heavily involved as what she had resolved turned out
rlm@2 60 not so easily solved.
rlm@2 61
rlm@2 62 "Of course Tomoyo-chan, I love you too. You're my best friend."
rlm@2 63
rlm@2 64 A shake of the head... Tomoyo despairs at how this will end.
rlm@2 65
rlm@2 66 "I love you Sakura. I fall asleep thinking of you, spend the night dreaming of
rlm@2 67 you and wake, eager to go and see you. I meet you and I am lost in you, I
rlm@2 68 follow you, the wonderful girl Sakura, for the day until I must dreadfully part
rlm@2 69 with you for another night, to dream of you again. I love you."
rlm@2 70
rlm@2 71 Sakura was not stupid, her sight merely didn't detect certain things, those
rlm@2 72 lines of string that connect people to each other. But to have them spelt out
rlm@2 73 was to have them revealed, and a haze from her sight was peeled. Tomoyo's
rlm@2 74 eccentricity was removed... it was a love, intense and burning inside the pale
rlm@2 75 girl. She had hoisted that love as a sail and let it unfurl, that even Sakura
rlm@2 76 might see it.
rlm@2 77
rlm@2 78 Sakura searched for a sail of her own, examining things she had left alone,
rlm@2 79 never truly dwelling on these thoughts. And yet, just as Tomoyo had explained
rlm@2 80 she had thoughts the same of her friend.
rlm@2 81
rlm@2 82 "Is this love? Tomoyo-chan... I feel the same for you. You are the anchor of my
rlm@2 83 life, the thing that it centers around. I see a beautiful bird, and I think 'I
rlm@2 84 wish Tomoyo was here to see this with me' or a hundred similar things..."
rlm@2 85
rlm@2 86 And so Sakura told herself true to Tomoyo, fighting back all those insecurities
rlm@2 87 and letting the love shine through. And yet Sakura was unsure and did not
rlm@2 88 understand what she thought, or what was thought of her... was that love? She
rlm@2 89 didn't know, she never knew... Tomoyo always helps her though, with such
rlm@2 90 things, and Tomoyo is here, saying this is love.
rlm@2 91
rlm@2 92 They lived, mostly happy much of the time, for a while, together, their spirits
rlm@2 93 mingled for ever and ever.
