It's me again, the Princess! I know, it's foolish of rlm@0: me to start three stories at once... but I can't help it! I mean, I can't rlm@0: just leave the darling Saturn and Chibimoon out of my plans... after all, rlm@0: SailorSaturn is my favorite! Now, quick notes before you read this. This rlm@0: story is a mix of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon manga, anime, and my own rlm@0: personal spice. It takes place shortly after the sailor senshi have defeated rlm@0: the Dead Moon Circus. The poem that ChibiUsa hears in her dream is Saturn's rlm@0: prologue for her Sailorstars poem, called "The Second Coming." Standard rlm@0: disclaimers apply. And, on to the story.... rlm@0: rlm@0: "Dreams that won't disappear when I open my eyes.." rlm@0: Prelude rlm@0: rlm@0: ---------- rlm@0: rlm@0: ChibiUsa stirred faintly in her sleep, giving out a rlm@0: small moan. After the defeat of the Dead Moon Circus, her nightmares had rlm@0: ended, and she had thought happily that they would stay at rest. But they rlm@0: had returned full force this night, as was shown by her bedsheets that had rlm@0: long since tangled around her sweat-damped body, twisted by her shifting rlm@0: movements. rlm@0: rlm@0: In her dream, every mirror and reflective surface throughout Tokyo rlm@0: mirrored the silhouette of Nehelinia, and her evil laughter reverbrated rlm@0: throughout the city. A quick flash revealed another brief picture of an rlm@0: entranced Mamoru in the Dark Queen's arms, as Usagi watched, wounded and rlm@0: helpless. Tears stung at the corner of ChibiUsa's eyes as she whimpered rlm@0: within her deep sleep, despair welling in her heart. rlm@0: rlm@0: But, suddenly, all pictures of evil and despair vanished into a dark rlm@0: violet vortex. It was as if the fabric of the dream itself had been sucked rlm@0: down a drain until nothing was left until darkness and silence. Unknowingly, rlm@0: ChibiUsa's breath and pulse stopped completely, until a lilting voice slowly rlm@0: spoke them back to life. The voice was cold, like someone who had been long rlm@0: hurt, and yet beautiful, and it filled the silence with a music of it's rlm@0: own. rlm@0: rlm@0: Surely some revelation is at hand; rlm@0: Surely the Second Coming is at hand." rlm@0: rlm@0: The sleeping pink-haired girl's lips moved in an rlm@0: unspoken name, but the beautifully spoken poem continued heedless in her rlm@0: mind's ear. rlm@0: rlm@0:
"The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out rlm@0: When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi rlm@0: Troubles my sight: .." rlm@0: rlm@0: Within the violet vortex a dark figure became rlm@0: apparent. But, unlike that of Nehelinia, this one betrayed not an evil aura, rlm@0: but one of intense, fear-inducing power, as well as wisdom and age. The rlm@0: slight figure's sensuous curves could be seen, held in a brief skirted fuku, rlm@0: slender legs ending in knee-length boots. The dark figure raised a delicate rlm@0: hand, and a wickedly curved polearm appeared in it. rlm@0: rlm@0: "Somewhere in sands of the desert rlm@0: A shape with lion body and the head of a man, rlm@0: A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, rlm@0: Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it rlm@0: Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds." rlm@0: rlm@0: Suddenly, like a camera on zoom, ChibiUsa could see rlm@0: the figure's face. The countenance was pale and delicately boned, framed by rlm@0: raven hair, dark lashes resting on flawless cheeks. A shiver rushed rlm@0: ChibiUsa's body as those lashes lifted, revealing depthless violet orbs that rlm@0: were soul-touching even in her dreams. rlm@0: rlm@0: "The darkness drops again; but now I know rlm@0: That twenty centuries of stony sleep rlm@0: Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle... " rlm@0: rlm@0: With a gasp, ChibiUsa was suddenly hurled from the rlm@0: dream world into the waking one, and found herself sitting up in bed, rlm@0: panting, drenched with sweat, her crimson eyes wide. In the yellowish glow rlm@0: of the streetlights that filtered through her window, she stared down at her rlm@0: trembling hands, looking surprised as tears fell on them, her lips slowly rlm@0: moving. "The darkness drops again..." she repeated the line, mesmerized at rlm@0: the thought of it. rlm@0: rlm@0: "Twenty centuries," she continued, her gaze slowly shifting to look rlm@0: at a picture on her night table. "Of stony sleep..." The picture was of a rlm@0: frail ebony-haired girl, eyes closed as she held a bouquet of beautiful pink rlm@0: flowers to her nose. "Vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle..." rlm@0: rlm@0: Drawing her legs beneath her, she moved slowly toward the table, rlm@0: extending a hand to brush two fingers tenderly over the photograph. "Oh, rlm@0: Hotaru-chan," she whispered into the still night. "You're coming back to rlm@0: me..." rlm@0: rlm@0: ---------- rlm@0: rlm@0: There you go. I think this is going to be a good rlm@0: story... Hotaru and ChibiUsa are my passions in Sailormoon, I'm going to rlm@0: thoroughly enjoy writing this story about them. Please send all comments and rlm@0: criticism you have to me, I'd love to hear it! Until next time, keep your rlm@0: eyes on the moon! rlm@0: rlm@0: ~Princess~
