     6 Notes: It has taken me too long to write the second part for this story….gomen

     7 ^^;;  I have been very busy these days (I know, excuses…excuses….) But here we

     8 go…I hope you like!

    15 Li was able to use the illusion card for the next day, the fake Sakura claiming

    16 illness. Touya was suspicious, but Tomoyo finally convinced him that she would

    17 keep an eye on her and tell him if she worsened.

    18 “I don’t know how long we can keep this up…” Tomoyo whispered. Li rubbed his

    19 bloodshot eyes and nodded in agreement.

    20 “I have tried all my ideas….if the Kero cannot come up with something….” Li

    21 stared at the floor. Tomoyo shook him by the shoulder to force him to look up.

    22 “We will not stop until she awakens.” She stated confidently. Li smiled briefly.

    23 “Of course.” He answered.

    24      Tomoyo turned back to the sleeping Sakura, noting the faintest of smiles on

    25 her lips….the memory must be a good one, Tomoyo thought as she ran her fingers

    26 lightly through Sakura’s hair. Tomoyo felt a little bad, relishing this moment

    27 of closeness and savoring the softness of Sakura’s hair, while Sakura was under

    28 a Card’s influence.  She let the strands slip through her fingers and fall onto

    29 the pillow without a sound.

    30 Sakura-chan……..

    31 I love you…..Please come back to me…….

    38       Sakura walked behind Tomoyo and into the woods.

    39 “Did you hear that?” Tomoyo hissed, reaching back and grabbing Sakura’s hand.

    40 Sakura calmed herself, holding the hand of her beloved, and stepped closer.

    41 “It’s nothing Tomoyo-chan….come on, the others will be waiting for us….” Sakura

    42 grinned. Tomoyo frowned.

    43 “I don’t like spooky things like this….do you believe in the mists?” The black

    44 haired girl asked, now holding onto Sakura’s arm as they walked. 

    45 “I guess so.”

    46 “I hope nothing happens, nothing at all….” Tomoyo shuddered. Sakura hugged her

    47 quickly.

    48 “It will be fine, I’ll be there to protect you.”

    51        “Did you bring your lanterns?” Rika asked. The others nodded silently. 

    52 “Now…light them and repeat this verse from the shrine….then the mists will be

    53 released….” Rika announced. Everyone did as told. Sakura glanced at Tomoyo,

    54 whose hand shook as she lit her candle, a soft blue surrounding her face and

    55 showing her nervousness. Sakura was about to go over to her when someone

    56 screamed out. 

    57 “I saw something! Over there!” Chiharu pointed to the right of herself, the

    58 densest part of the wood. Everyone started to grab their lanterns,  high pitched

    59 voices and one girl was crying, all eager to leave before the mists got them.

    60 Rika was trying to calm people, but to no avail.

    61 Sakura watched the woods, looking for the mists….she wanted to see it, to know

    62 for sure if it was real or not…She walked closer to the trees and noticed a

    63 light, small and yellow, in the distance….should I go closer? Sakura wondered.

    64 She took a small step and focused on the light….she listened for a sound….Sakura

    65 walked  closer, feeling light headed….She placed a hand on a tree.

    66 What is wrong? Why can’t I stay standing?

    67 “Sakura!”

    68 Someone is calling me….but why can’t I move? The light….it is getting closer…..

    69 “Please, Sakura, answer me!”

    70 Sakura tried to  turn and yell out, but the light was too bright for her to

    71 think on anything else….A whisper slid past her ears, clear as a bell….

    73 “We may never get her back…..” A soft voice echoed, followed by sobbing.

    75 The next thing Sakura remembered was being dragged by her arm and being held

    76 tightly. Sakura cleared her throat, trying to swallow….Tomoyo looked at her.

    77 “Oh Sakura-chan….you scared me so! I called for you and could not find

    78 you….don’t do that ever again! The others thought a spirit captured you and

    79 I…I…” Tomoyo stopped, tears forming in her eyes. Sakura managed a smile, her

    80 body not really responding to her commands.

    81 “Don’t…cry…Tomoyo-chan….” She whispered. Tomoyo reached out and touched her

    82 fingertips to Sakura’s cheek.

    83 And they just stood there until Rika ran over to them.

    84 “Sakura, I am so glad you are okay….” She said out of breath. “Did you see

    85 something like Chiharu?”

    86 Sakura tore her gaze from Tomoyo and nodded.

    87 “Yes….”

    93        Tomoyo left a note and hoped no one would get too angry, but Sakura had

    94 to be somewhere safe until they could wake her. She told her mother that Sakura

    95 would be staying for the entire weekend, but was too sick to do much…I hope this

    96 works, Tomoyo worried as she settled Sakura under the blankets.

    97 I get to sleep next to her….Tomoyo sighed and slipped under the covers, watching

    98 Sakura in her slumber.

    99 So beautiful….My Sakura….my cherry blossom….

   100 Tomoyo snuggled closer and brought her lips to Sakura’s ear.

   101 “I know you can hear me, Sakura-chan…..I’ll take care of you until you come back

   102 to us….to me.” Tomoyo whispered, wrapping her arms around the girl’s waist and

   103 drifting to sleep.
