    1.10 +
    1.11 +  Sakura and Madison walked hand in hand to school. The weekend before 
    1.12 +they 
    1.13 +had finally admitted to eachother that they were in love. (You can pick 
    1.14 +just 
    1.15 +about any other Tomoyo/Madison Sakura fic to fill in this part.) They 
    1.16 +had 
    1.17 +told their friends, who had said they understood, and had thought that 
    1.18 +was 
    1.19 +the end of it. They were wrong.
    1.20 +
    1.21 +  Sakura first began to notice something was wrong in first period. She 
    1.22 +kept 
    1.23 +getting odd feelings and when she looked up a lot of people were 
    1.24 +quickly 
    1.25 +looking away from either her or Madison. Blushing, she focused on her 
    1.26 +work 
    1.27 +and listening to Miss Makinzy explain the lesson. It wasn't easy.
    1.28 +  When the class was done Miss Makinzy announced that it was time to go 
    1.29 +out 
    1.30 +for break. Madison and Sakura walked out to the play ground and sat 
    1.31 +down by 
    1.32 +the sand pit where the volley ball net was set up.
    1.33 +  Madison looked over at Sakura and smiled nervously. "Is it just me or 
    1.34 +were 
    1.35 +we the focus of a lot of attention."
    1.36 +  Sakura shook her head. "It wasn't just you. I think we would probably 
    1.37 +get 
    1.38 +less attntion if we told them about the card captor thing."
    1.39 +  Madison smiled sadly. "You know Sakura if you want to stop now I 
    1.40 +would 
    1.41 +understand."
    1.42 +  Sakura smiled and shook her head. "You know better than that Madison. 
    1.43 +I 
    1.44 +love you and what anybody else thinks doesn't matter one bit."
    1.45 +  Madison smiled and hugged her. "Thank you Sakura. I don't know what 
    1.46 +I'd do 
    1.47 +without you."
    1.48 +  Sakura giggled. "You'd die of lonelyness, just like I would. Now come 
    1.49 +on, 
    1.50 +let's get back to class alright?"
    1.51 +  Madison nodded and they both got up. As they walked back to the 
    1.52 +classroom 
    1.53 +they were both accutely aware of the stares of most of the other kids 
    1.54 +on the 
    1.55 +play ground. Despite this they both kept smiling and holding hands. 
    1.56 +Sakura 
    1.57 +and Madison had both faced down everything from the fly card to the 
    1.58 +thunder 
    1.59 +card. Neither of them were afraid of a few odd looks.
    1.60 +
    1.61 +  The rest of the day went pretty much the same. Hushed whispers, 
    1.62 +strange 
    1.63 +looks, and some laughter behind their backs. They were both intensely 
    1.64 +relieved when the lunch bell rang. Madison and Sakura sat down at their 
    1.65 +usual table and began to eat. When Nikki and the others started to walk 
    1.66 +past 
    1.67 +them Sakura called out, "Hey, are you going to sit with us or what?"
    1.68 +  The other girls looked at her nervously and Nikki stepped forward. 
    1.69 +"Well 
    1.70 +Sakura, like we said we understand about you two and all that. But 
    1.71 +well, we 
    1.72 +still like guys. And if we sit with you they might think..."
    1.73 +  Sakura frowned and was about to tell them just how stupid that was 
    1.74 +when 
    1.75 +Madison put her hand on Sakura's arm. "That's alright Nikki. We 
    1.76 +understand. 
    1.77 +See you later alright?"
    1.78 +  They other girls nodded and walked away. Nikki stopped and glanced 
    1.79 +back, 
    1.80 +then continued after the others.
    1.81 +  Sakura frowned. "That is so dumb! I can't believe that they think 
    1.82 +that 
    1.83 +just hanging out with us..."
    1.84 +  Madison smiled pleasantly. "Well they're right Sakura. You've seen 
    1.85 +how 
    1.86 +people have been acting around us. For the next few weeks at least this 
    1.87 +is 
    1.88 +going to be a big deal. We just have to give them time to get used to 
    1.89 +it."
    1.90 +  Sakura sighed and took a bite of her food. "I know you're right 
    1.91 +Madison. 
    1.92 +It wasn't like it was easy for us either. But still..."
    1.93 +  Madison nodded and began eating too. Suddenly Lee and Maylin sat down 
    1.94 +infront of them. Maylin smiled and Lee looked at them with his usual 
    1.95 +grim 
    1.96 +face. "Hey Avalon, what's up?"
    1.97 +  Sakura smiled. "Aren't you afraid that sitting with us will damage 
    1.98 +your 
    1.99 +popularity?"
   1.100 +  Lee shook his head. "We didn't move down here to be popular. Anyway 
   1.101 +you 
   1.102 +two are our only real friends around here, so who cares what anybody 
   1.103 +else 
   1.104 +thinks."
   1.105 +  Madison looked at him suprised. "That's awfully nice of you Lee."
   1.106 +  Maylin nodded. "Well he's right. And anyway it's not like he has 
   1.107 +anyone to 
   1.108 +impress." She leaned her head on Lee's shoulder. Lee rolled his eyes 
   1.109 +but 
   1.110 +Maylin ignored it.
   1.111 +  Sakura smiled at them. "Well thanks you guys. I was begining to 
   1.112 +wonder if 
   1.113 +we had any real friends left."
   1.114 +  They ate the rest of their meals and talked about the cards they had 
   1.115 +been 
   1.116 +capturing lately. "So how many are left?" Madison asked.
   1.117 +  "About fifteen I think." Sakura said. She looked over at Lee. "There 
   1.118 +were 
   1.119 +fifty two to start with right?"
   1.120 +  Lee nodded. "Yes. You know Avalon you really need to study magic if 
   1.121 +you 
   1.122 +want to be a good card captor."
   1.123 +  Sakura blushed and looked down. "Well Kero has been teaching me, but 
   1.124 +it 
   1.125 +takes a while. You two have been studying it all your lives."
   1.126 +  Maylin frowned. "You've still got an edge on me. I can't even capture 
   1.127 +the 
   1.128 +cards."
   1.129 +  Madison looked at her. "Well neither can I, but Sakura is always 
   1.130 +telling 
   1.131 +me that she couldn't do it without my help."
   1.132 +  Sakura smiled. "Yeah, both of you help out alot Maylin. Even if you 
   1.133 +can't 
   1.134 +use magic, right Lee?"
   1.135 +  Lee grunted and took a bite of his food. Maylin, however, seemed to 
   1.136 +be in 
   1.137 +a better mood and the conversation turned to more pleasant topics. The 
   1.138 +good 
   1.139 +mood lasted almost until the end of lunch.
   1.140 +  As they were heading back to class, one of the boys that they didn't 
   1.141 +knwo 
   1.142 +very well made a comment. Sakura didn't hear much of it, but what she 
   1.143 +did 
   1.144 +hear was her and Madison's names and the phrase 'carpet muncher'.
   1.145 +  Lee immediately punched the guy in the face before Sakura or Madison 
   1.146 +could 
   1.147 +stop him. "When you insult my friends you insult me." He tried to go 
   1.148 +after 
   1.149 +the guy again but Sakura and Madison were holding him back.
   1.150 +  "Lee stop it right now!" Sakura, Madison, and Maylin said at the same 
   1.151 +time.
   1.152 +  Lee looked at them confused. "But he..."
   1.153 +  Sakura shook her head. "Lee I appriciate you trying to defend us, but 
   1.154 +you 
   1.155 +can't do things like that."
   1.156 +  Madison nodded. "She's right Lee. You can't be there every time 
   1.157 +something 
   1.158 +like this happens. Just let us handle it alright? You'll just end up 
   1.159 +getting 
   1.160 +into trouble."
   1.161 +  Lee stopped struggling, especially since the guy had run away. He 
   1.162 +looked 
   1.163 +at both of then, then bowed. "You're right, I'm sorry."
   1.164 +  Maylin smiled and held his arm. "Still Lee, it was very gallant of 
   1.165 +you to 
   1.166 +do that. Would you do the same for me Lee?"
   1.167 +  Lee blushed and the three girls laughed at him. Just then the bell 
   1.168 +rang 
   1.169 +and they turned to go back to class. On the way in Miss Makinzy looked 
   1.170 +at 
   1.171 +them. "I want to talk to the four of you after class." They all looked 
   1.172 +down 
   1.173 +and nodded. "Yes Miss Makinzy."
   1.174 +
   1.175 +  After the other students had been excused Sakura, Madison, Maylin, 
   1.176 +and Lee 
   1.177 +stood infront of Miss Makinzy's desk. "I saw what happend today durring 
   1.178 +lunch. That wasn't a very smart thing to do Lee."
   1.179 +  Lee looked down ebarrassed and frowned. "I'm sorry."
   1.180 +  Miss Makinzy laughed. "You don't have anything to be sorry for Lee." 
   1.181 +They 
   1.182 +all looked up at her suprised. "It's been a long time since I saw 
   1.183 +chivalry 
   1.184 +like that. But like Sakura said, you can't fight someone's battle for 
   1.185 +them."
   1.186 +  She looked at Madison and Sakura. "And it is going to be a battle you 
   1.187 +know. It hasn't been easy for either of you two has it?"
   1.188 +  They shook their heads and Sakura said, "No, but I'm not ready to 
   1.189 +give up 
   1.190 +just because of what somebody else thinks."
   1.191 +  Madison nodded. "Me either."
   1.192 +  Miss Makinzy smiled. "You know I envy all of you. And not just for 
   1.193 +the 
   1.194 +cards either. Very few people find someone who loves them enough to go 
   1.195 +through this sort of thing. And even fewer have friends that will stand 
   1.196 +with 
   1.197 +them."
   1.198 +  Sakura dn Madison smiled at Lee and Maylin who stood looking stunned. 
   1.199 +Miss 
   1.200 +Makinzy smiled and pointed towards the door. "You may be excused now. I 
   1.201 +will 
   1.202 +see you all tommorow."
   1.203 +  They all nodded and headed towards the door. Madison and Sakura 
   1.204 +smiled at 
   1.205 +eachother and said goodbye to Maylin and Lee, then bagan walking 
   1.206 +towards 
   1.207 +Sakura's house.
   1.208 +
   1.209 +  When they arrived at Sakura's home Kero was waiting to be fed. "I'm 
   1.210 +starving. Why were you two so late getting back from school?" Sakura 
   1.211 +and 
   1.212 +Madison told him what happened. Kero was actually quite impressed with 
   1.213 +Lee's 
   1.214 +actions. "I didn't think he had it in him. Back in Clow Reed's time 
   1.215 +that was 
   1.216 +the standard of course. He must have been taught very well."
   1.217 +  Sakura shook her head and handed him a sandwich. "Well this isn't 
   1.218 +then. If 
   1.219 +we don't handle our own problems then they will just get bigger."
   1.220 +  Kero nodded. "You're right of course. But so was your teacher. This 
   1.221 +isn't 
   1.222 +going to be easy for either of you."
   1.223 +  Madison smiled and scratched Kero behind the ears. "Don't worry Kero, 
   1.224 +I'm 
   1.225 +sure we can handle it. Right Sakura?"
   1.226 +  "Right Madison." Sakura hugged both of them. "Thanks for helping out 
   1.227 +though Kero."
   1.228 +  Kero smiled and ate his sandwich. "No problem kid."
   1.229 +  They went to the livingroom and watched television until Sakura's 
   1.230 +brother 
   1.231 +and father came home. After that Madison called her mother for a ride 
   1.232 +home.
   1.233 +  When Madison's mother arrived and she was leaving Madison turned back 
   1.234 +to 
   1.235 +Sakura and the two kissed goodbye. "See you tommorow Sakura."
   1.236 +  Sakura smiled. "Bye Madison. See you on the way to school."
   1.237 +  Once Madison was gone Sakura turned back to see her father and Tory 
   1.238 +standing behind her. "Something you want to tell us Sakura?" Mr. Avalon 
   1.239 +asked.
   1.240 +  Sakura blushed. "Well Madison and I have kind of... become a couple."
   1.241 +  Both of them looked at her suprised. Tory frowned and asked her, "Why 
   1.242 +didn't you tell us?"
   1.243 +  Sakura looked at them. "Well it only happened this weekend. And I've 
   1.244 +been 
   1.245 +having a few problems at school so I just really didn't thinka bout 
   1.246 +it."
   1.247 +  Tory smiled and nodded. "I see. Well that's understandable I suppose, 
   1.248 +right dad?"
   1.249 +  Her father frowned and looked at her. "What kind of probelms at 
   1.250 +school?"
   1.251 +  Sakura told him about how her friends had decided not to sit with 
   1.252 +them any 
   1.253 +more and about what happened durring lunch. "It's no big deal really."
   1.254 +  Her dad seemed unconvinced. "Sakura I'm not sure if this is a good 
   1.255 +idea. I 
   1.256 +mean you're a little young to know what love is and you might be 
   1.257 +deluding 
   1.258 +yourself. Maybe you should think about not seeing her for a while."
   1.259 +  Sakura looked at him in shock. "Dad, I know what I'm doing. Madison 
   1.260 +makes 
   1.261 +me happier than anyone else in the world and I am not going to stop 
   1.262 +seeing 
   1.263 +her."
   1.264 +  Tory started to say something in Sakura's defense, but her dad cut 
   1.265 +him 
   1.266 +off. "Sakura I think that maybe you should go to your room to think 
   1.267 +about 
   1.268 +this. I'll send Tory up with your dinner later."
   1.269 +  Sakura looked at her father, feeling like he was betraying her. A 
   1.270 +tear 
   1.271 +trickled down her cheek and without another word she ran up the stairs 
   1.272 +to 
   1.273 +her room.
   1.274 +  Tory looked at his dad and said, "Weren't you a bit hard on her?"
   1.275 +  He shook his head. "No, I don't think so. She's just a kid. This way 
   1.276 +will 
   1.277 +spare her a lot of pain."
   1.278 +  Tory frowned and walked to the kitchen. "I'm going to make dinner."
   1.279 +
   1.280 +  When they got home Madison's mother asked her to wait a second before 
   1.281 +going upstairs. "Madison... I think we need to talk about you and 
   1.282 +Sakura."
   1.283 +  Madison sat down on the couch and looekd at her. "What do you mean?"
   1.284 +  "Well, when I was younger I had a crush on Sakura's mother, so I know 
   1.285 +what 
   1.286 +you're going through. I don't think you should keep seeing Sakura."
   1.287 +  Madison looked at her. "Why? I mean I've been in love with her for 
   1.288 +years 
   1.289 +and now we're finally together. I'm not going to give her up for no 
   1.290 +reason."
   1.291 +  Her mother bit her lip. "Madison, I'm just trying to spare you some 
   1.292 +of the 
   1.293 +pain I went through. I mean eventualy she might decide that she wants 
   1.294 +to 
   1.295 +have a baby Madison."
   1.296 +  Madison looked down sadly, then shook her head. "I don't care. We'll 
   1.297 +deal 
   1.298 +with thatever comes up."
   1.299 +  Her mother frowned. "I'm sorry Madison, but I can't let you do that. 
   1.300 +I'm 
   1.301 +going to arrange for home schooling now and I want you to not see 
   1.302 +Sakura for 
   1.303 +a while."
   1.304 +  Madison looked up at her in shock. "You can't do that!"
   1.305 +  Her mother shook her head. "It's for your own good Madison."
   1.306 +  "But mom I..." Madison began.
   1.307 +  "I've already decided Madison." She said.
   1.308 +  Madison gritted her teeth and ran up the stairs to her room. Her 
   1.309 +mother 
   1.310 +watched her go.
   1.311 +
   1.312 +  The cell phone in Sakura's room rang. Smiling she picked it up. 
   1.313 +"Madison?"
   1.314 +  "Yeah, it's me Sakura. You aren't going to believe this, but my mom 
   1.315 +wants 
   1.316 +me to stop seeing you." Madison said.
   1.317 +  Sakura sighed. "My dad is the same way. I can't believe them. It's 
   1.318 +none of 
   1.319 +their business anyway."
   1.320 +  Madison laughed. "You're right. But my mom is saying that she is 
   1.321 +going to 
   1.322 +make me take home schooling so I won't see you."
   1.323 +  Sakura gasped. "She can't do that, I mean it's totaly unfair. I don't 
   1.324 +believe... hold on a second, my brother is at the door." She stuffed 
   1.325 +the 
   1.326 +phone under her pillow. "Come in Tory."
   1.327 +  Tory came in carrying a tray of food. "Hey squirt. Here's your 
   1.328 +dinner."
   1.329 +  She smiled. "Mmm, smells good."
   1.330 +  He turned to leave and then stopped and looked back at her. "You know 
   1.331 +I 
   1.332 +think dad was totaly wrong."
   1.333 +  Sakura smiled. "Thanks Tory."
   1.334 +  He smiled. "No problem. I'll talk to him tommorow after he's had some 
   1.335 +time 
   1.336 +to think alright?" He turned and left, closing the door behind him.
   1.337 +  Once he was gone Sakura picked the phone up again. "Wow, you're 
   1.338 +brother is 
   1.339 +being really good about this." Madison said.
   1.340 +  Sakura nodded. "I know. I mean he teases me a lot, but he's a really 
   1.341 +cool 
   1.342 +guy some times."
   1.343 +  Sakura nodded and took a bite of her food. "So what are we going to 
   1.344 +do?"
   1.345 +  Madison sounded uncertain. "I don't know Sakura. I mean what can we 
   1.346 +do?"
   1.347 +  Sakura was thinking about it when she heard a door open on the other 
   1.348 +end 
   1.349 +of the line. In the background she could hear Madison's mother. 
   1.350 +"Madison I 
   1.351 +thought I had made myself clear. Give me that phone right now."
   1.352 +  Sakura listened while the phone exchanged hands. After a second 
   1.353 +Madison's 
   1.354 +mother said, "Sakura? I would really appriciate it if you would leave 
   1.355 +Madison alone for a while."
   1.356 +  Sakura frowned. "Why? We've been best friends since we were kids."
   1.357 +  "You are still kids. You're too young for this kind of relationship. 
   1.358 +Now 
   1.359 +please just leave her alone." She hung the phone up, leaving Sakura 
   1.360 +just 
   1.361 +sitting there.
   1.362 +  Sakura tried to call back, but it was turrned off. When she called 
   1.363 +the 
   1.364 +house number the operator told her that the call was blocked. She 
   1.365 +looked at 
   1.366 +Kero who had been sitting on the dresser. "This is so unfair. How can 
   1.367 +she do 
   1.368 +something like this?"
   1.369 +  Kero shrugged. "She wants what she thinks is best. for the two of 
   1.370 +you. The 
   1.371 +question is, what are you going to do about it?"
   1.372 +  Sakura frowned and bit her lip. Suddenly the clow book opened and the 
   1.373 +cards flew out to surround her. "Kero, what's going on?"
   1.374 +  Kero nodded. "The cards want to help you Sakura."
   1.375 +  Sakura frowned and looked at them, then nodded. "Alright, then I know 
   1.376 +what 
   1.377 +I have to do."
   1.378 +
   1.379 +  Madison sat in her room crying into her pillow. All the videos, 
   1.380 +drawings, 
   1.381 +and pictures she had of Sakura had been confinscated by her mother. She 
   1.382 +had 
   1.383 +taken away her cell phone and even went so far as to delete all of the 
   1.384 +pictures of Sakura that Madison had on her computer.
   1.385 +  Her door creaked as it opened slightly. "I don't want to talk to you 
   1.386 +right 
   1.387 +now."
   1.388 +  The door opened a bit more, but nobody answered. When she looked up 
   1.389 +instead of her mother she saw the visible form of the sleep card 
   1.390 +peeking 
   1.391 +around her door. Madison gasped and her face broke into a huge grin. 
   1.392 +"Is 
   1.393 +Sakura here?"
   1.394 +  The sleep card nodded and flew into the room, avoiding her so that 
   1.395 +she 
   1.396 +didn't fall asleep too. It pointed to the window. Madison got up and 
   1.397 +walked 
   1.398 +over to the window and opened it. The sleep card flew out and up. 
   1.399 +Looking 
   1.400 +outside Madison saw Sakura flying just above her roof.
   1.401 +  "Hi Madison, care to go on a little trip?" Sakura whipsered.
   1.402 +  Madison looked at her worriedly. "You mean like run away."
   1.403 +  Sakura nodded. "Not forever, but maybe long enough to let our parents 
   1.404 +know 
   1.405 +we're serious. If you don't want to we won't."
   1.406 +  Madison smiled. "Just wait a second while I get my coat and cammera."
   1.407 +  Madison ducked back inside while Sakura put the sleep card away. She 
   1.408 +peeked out her door and saw some of the house staff asleep on the 
   1.409 +floor. 
   1.410 +Quickly she went back into her room and walked to the window. "How do I 
   1.411 +get 
   1.412 +to you? If you land in the yard the security system will go off."
   1.413 +  Sakura smiled and pulled out the float card. She landed on the roof 
   1.414 +and 
   1.415 +used it to levitate Madison up to her. When she got there Madison 
   1.416 +hugged her 
   1.417 +tightly. "You're my hero Sakura."
   1.418 +  Sakura hugged her back. "And you're my princess Madison. Come on, 
   1.419 +let's 
   1.420 +go."
   1.421 +  They both got onto the wand and flew off into the night. A cold wind 
   1.422 +brushed over them and Madison scooted closer to her. "It's cold 
   1.423 +tonight."
   1.424 +  Sakura nodded. "Yeah. We need to find some place to go."
   1.425 +  Madison thought for a minute. "Maybe Lee and Maylin would let us stay 
   1.426 +at 
   1.427 +their place."
   1.428 +  Sakura shook her head. "I don't think so. Their guardian might not 
   1.429 +want to 
   1.430 +get involved."
   1.431 +  Madison sighed and buried her face in Sakura's hair. "Maybe Miss 
   1.432 +Makinzy 
   1.433 +would help."
   1.434 +  Sakura smiled. "That's a great idea Madison." The wand banked to the 
   1.435 +left 
   1.436 +and they headed towards Miss Makinzy's house. When they got there they 
   1.437 +landed and walked over to the door.
   1.438 +  Sakura reached up and knocked on the door softly. After a minute Miss 
   1.439 +Makinzy opened it and smiled at them. "Sakura. Madison. What are you 
   1.440 +doing 
   1.441 +here so late? Come on in before you get sick."
   1.442 +  They followed her inside and into the living room. Once there Miss 
   1.443 +Makinzy 
   1.444 +motioned for them to sit on the couch. "Now to what do I owe this 
   1.445 +visit?"
   1.446 +  Sakura and Madison looked at her nervously. "We were wondering if 
   1.447 +maybe we 
   1.448 +could stay with you for a couple of days."
   1.449 +  Miss Makinzy looked at them in suprise. "What's wrong with your own 
   1.450 +homes?"
   1.451 +  They told her what had happened and how their parents were acting. 
   1.452 +She 
   1.453 +listend quietly until they were finished. "So we were hoping you'd help 
   1.454 +us. 
   1.455 +If you want we could do chores for you around here." Sakura said.
   1.456 +  "And we'll do whatever school work you want to give us." Madison 
   1.457 +added.
   1.458 +  Miss Makinzy smiled. "Well that is a very tempting offer, but you 
   1.459 +know I 
   1.460 +can't do that." Sakura and Madison looked down sadly. "But what I can 
   1.461 +do it 
   1.462 +talk to your parents. I may be able to convince them to listen."
   1.463 +  Sakura looked up at her gratefully. "Would you? That would be so 
   1.464 +great."
   1.465 +  Madison nodded her agreement. "Yeah."
   1.466 +  Miss Makinzy smiled. "Look, why don't you two have some cookies while 
   1.467 +I 
   1.468 +call your parents?" The girls smiled and Miss Makinzy brought in a 
   1.469 +plate of 
   1.470 +cookies for them.
   1.471 +  While they were eating Madison looked down at the coffee table. "Hey 
   1.472 +Sakura, doesn't that pattern look familiar?"
   1.473 +  Sakura looked down and stared in amazement. "It's a lazen board! Does 
   1.474 +everyone have one of these except me?"
   1.475 +  Madison giggled, then they both stopped as they heard miss Makinzy on 
   1.476 +the 
   1.477 +phone. "Yes, they are both here. Yes they are safe. No I will not make 
   1.478 +them 
   1.479 +go to seperate rooms. Please, will you please come here and talk to me 
   1.480 +in 
   1.481 +person? I don't think that will work. They would just run away again. 
   1.482 +No, I

   1.491 +  Sakura bit her lip and looked up at her. "Do you think we should be

   1.493 +when you talk to them? It might help."
   1.494 +  She shook her head. "No. I know it doesn't seem fair to keep you two

   1.496 +of the conversation, but I think it will be easier to get them to 
   1.497 +listen to 
   1.498 +me if the two of you remain out of sight until we are done."
   1.499 +  Madison took Sakura's hand and squeesed it slightly. "I see what you 
   1.500 +mean 
   1.501 +Miss Makinzy, but still it is about us..." Sakura nodded and squeesed 
   1.502 +Madison's hand back.
   1.503 +  Miss Makinzy looked at then, then nodded. "Alright, but not at first.

   1.505 +call you down when it's time. Is that good enought?"
   1.506 +  They looked at eachother, then back at her and nodded. "Thank you

   1.508 +Makinzy."
   1.509 +  She smiled. "It's no problem. It actually makes me feel pretty good

   1.511 +you came to me with this. Your friends Lee and Maylin still don't quite

   1.513 +  Sakura smiled. "Well maybe if you weren't so mysterious all the time.

   1.515 +the way, this is a lazen board right?" She pointed to the table. "Where

   1.518 +  Miss Makinzy smiled. "I may be able to get you one later. I take it

   1.521 +  Sakura nodded and nervously rubbed the spot in her jakect where the

   1.523 +book was hidden. She was glad Kero had decided to stay at home.
   1.524 +  They spent some time talking, killing time until their parents showed 
   1.525 +up.

   1.527 +  Sakura's father and Madison's mother drove to Miss Makinzy's house in

   1.529 +same car. She had woken up after the other people in her house and 
   1.530 +since 
   1.531 +they didn't want to get into trouble, they hadn't told her. When she

   1.533 +gone to check on Madison and found her missing nobody coudl figure out 
   1.534 +where 
   1.535 +she had gone since the security system had not been set off.
   1.536 +  She had gone to Sakura's house immediately, only to find that Sakura 
   1.537 +had 
   1.538 +been missing too. Sakura's father told her what had happened with him 
   1.539 +and 
   1.540 +Sakura. She admitted that a similar conversation had happened between 
   1.541 +her 
   1.542 +and her daughter. Just them Miss Makinzy had called to tell them that 
   1.543 +the 
   1.544 +girls had gone to see her. Both parents had immediately asked that the 
   1.545 +two 
   1.546 +be separated, but the teacher had refused. As they left Tory had looked 
   1.547 +at 
   1.548 +them and said, "You are both wrong. You should let them make their own 
   1.549 +decisions." Both parents left without saying anything to him.
   1.550 +  As they drove to her house Sakura's father said, "I think this is all 
   1.551 +your 
   1.552 +fault."
   1.553 +  She looked at him. "My fault?"
   1.554 +  He nodded. "I know about that thing you had about my wife."
   1.555 +  She frowned. "But I didn't even tell Madison about that. And anyway I 
   1.556 +told 
   1.557 +Madison that it would be best for all conserned if they stopped seeing 
   1.558 +eachother."
   1.559 +  "Well that's what I told Sakura." He said.
   1.560 +  The rest of the drive was very quiet and when they arrived at Miss 
   1.561 +Makinzy's house. They got out of the car and knocked on the door. 
   1.562 +Inside 
   1.563 +they heard what sounded like two people running up the stairs. Then 
   1.564 +Miss 
   1.565 +Makinzy opened the door. She smiled at them and asked them to come in.
   1.566 +  "Actually I was wondering if I might just get my daughter and go." 
   1.567 +Mrs. 
   1.568 +Taylor said.
   1.569 +  Miss Makinzy shook her head. "As I told Mr.Avalon the girls only 
   1.570 +agreed to 
   1.571 +wait here for you to show up if I would talk with you. Otherwise they 
   1.572 +will 
   1.573 +just run away again."
   1.574 +  They both followed her inside. "Look, we didn't want to hurt them. We 
   1.575 +just 
   1.576 +feel that it would be best if they just... waited a few years." 
   1.577 +Sakura's dad 
   1.578 +said.
   1.579 +  Miss Makinzy looked at him seriously. "And I suppose what they want 
   1.580 +means 
   1.581 +nothing?"
   1.582 +  Madison's mom shook her head. "I know what they are going through. I 
   1.583 +don't 
   1.584 +want my daughter to go through what I did."
   1.585 +  From upstairs Sakura and Madison listened while the adults talked.
   1.586 +  Miss Makinzy nodded. "I see, but I don't think this is the same 
   1.587 +situation. 
   1.588 +I have seen them at school and while they have been having their 
   1.589 +problems, 
   1.590 +both Sakura and Madison have been handling it well. Their friends have 
   1.591 +been 
   1.592 +helping them out."
   1.593 +  Mr. Avalon rubbed his chin. "Still this is rather unusual. I mean... 
   1.594 +well 
   1.595 +you know."
   1.596 +  Miss Makinzy smiled. "Yes, I do know. But still that is a choice they 
   1.597 +had 
   1.598 +to make and it probably wasn't easy for either of them. Don't you think 
   1.599 +you 
   1.600 +should let them decide how to do this?"
   1.601 +  Mrs. Taylor looked at her. "Well neither of them seem to be here do 
   1.602 +they?"
   1.603 +  Miss Makinzy shook her head. "Actually they want to talk to both of

   1.605 +about it. Girls, you can come down now."
   1.606 +  Sakura and Madison held eachother's hands as they walked down the 
   1.607 +stairs. 
   1.608 +When they reached the living room their parents looked at them. "You 
   1.609 +two are 
   1.610 +in a lot of trouble." Mr. Avalon said.
   1.611 +  Sakura looked down. "I know."
   1.612 +  Mrs. Taylor looked at Madison. "How did you get passed the security 
   1.613 +system?"
   1.614 +  "Magic." Madison answered honestly.
   1.615 +  Her mother looked mad, but Miss Makinzy interupted. "Let's leave that 
   1.616 +for 
   1.617 +another time. Girls, I think you wanted to tell them something."
   1.618 +  Both parents waited, watching their daughters. Sakura bit her lip and 
   1.619 +looked at them. "Well we think what you are doing is totaly unfair. I 
   1.620 +mean 
   1.621 +we tell you that we love eachother and instead of being happy for us 
   1.622 +you are 
   1.623 +pulling a Romeo and Juliet routeen."
   1.624 +  Madison nodded. "Yeah. We have enough problems as it is without you 
   1.625 +two 
   1.626 +trying to keep us apart. I mean mom, I know it didn't work out with 
   1.627 +you. But 
   1.628 +Sakura isn't her mother and I'm not you."
   1.629 +  Sakura spoke up, "Yeah. You can't judge how we're going to end up 
   1.630 +just 
   1.631 +because of what happened to you." She looked at her father. "And dad, I 
   1.632 +know 
   1.633 +you think we're too young, but I love Madison. Just as much as I love 
   1.634 +you 
   1.635 +and Tory."
   1.636 +  They stood there in silence for a minute. Then Miss Makinzy said, 
   1.637 +"Girls, 
   1.638 +why don't you go back upstairs for a minute while your parents talk?"
   1.639 +  They both nodded and turned to go upstairs. As they did Sakura and 
   1.640 +Madison 
   1.641 +held eachother close and stopped at the edge of the living room to look 
   1.642 +back 
   1.643 +at their parents. Then they left the room and went back to the top of 
   1.644 +the 
   1.645 +stairs.
   1.646 +  Mr. Avalon sighed. "They're right of course."
   1.647 +  Mrs. Taylor nodded. "Yeah, but that won't make it any easier on them. 
   1.648 +I 
   1.649 +mean people will talk and then there is the physical aspect..."
   1.650 +  He shook his head. "I know. And here I always thought Tory and I 
   1.651 +would 
   1.652 +have to keep boys away from her." He looked at Miss Makinzy. "You're

   1.654 +they handled the school stuff alright?"
   1.655 +  She nodded. "Yes sir. In fact when one of their friends tried to 
   1.656 +defend 
   1.657 +them from a rude comment, they stopped him and insisted that they could 
   1.658 +handle it themselves. Your daughters are very grown up."
   1.659 +  He smiled. "I know. But still..." He looked at Madison's mom.
   1.660 +  "I don't see what we can do. After all if we try to keep them apart 
   1.661 +they 
   1.662 +might run away again. And next time they might not come to someone who 
   1.663 +will 
   1.664 +tell us where they are." She said.
   1.665 +  Miss Makinzy looked at them seriously. "I will promise you that there 
   1.666 +is 
   1.667 +nothing you can do to keep them apart. After all, didn't you say that

   1.669 +how Madison got out of your house with the security system, your 
   1.670 +bodyguards, 
   1.671 +and all that?"
   1.672 +  Mrs. Taylor nodded. "Yes. And anyway if they are really happy 
   1.673 +together I 
   1.674 +don't suppose it would be right to force them."
   1.675 +  He agreed and glanced the way the girls had gone. "So we just let 
   1.676 +them 
   1.677 +work it out for themselves then."

   1.679 +When she got home Sakura looked at her dad. "Am I grounded?"
   1.680 +  He looked at her and shook his head. "No, just go to bed alright? You 
   1.681 +have 
   1.682 +school tommorow."
   1.683 +  She smiled and walked up the stairs. Tory was there and he smiled at 
   1.684 +her. 
   1.685 +"You seem to be in a better mood."
   1.686 +  Sakura nodded. "Yeah. Dad and I talked on the way home. Everything 
   1.687 +worked 
   1.688 +out fine."
   1.689 +  Tory nodded and they both went to their rooms. Once she got there 
   1.690 +Sakura 
   1.691 +changed into her night gown and settled down into bed. Suddenly her 
   1.692 +cell 
   1.693 +phone rang. She reached over and picked it up. "Hello?"
   1.694 +  Madison's voice answered. "Hi Sakura. My mom gave me back my phone

   1.696 +pictures. I just wanted to say good night."
   1.697 +  Sakura smiled. "Good night Madison. I'll see you tommorow. Love you

   1.699 +  "I love you too Sakura." The phone hung up and Sakura pulled the 
   1.700 +blankets 
   1.701 +over herself and smiled. Atleast things were getting better. Tommorow 
   1.702 +was 
   1.703 +going to be another rough day, but she knew that after all this she

   1.705 +hande it. Taking one last look at Madison's picture on her nightstand, 
   1.706 +Sakura closed her eyes and went to sleep.
