    1.17 +friend of ChibiUsa's from both the anime and the manga. 
    1.18 +Diana is ChibiUsa's talking kitten who came back with

    1.39 +"You look beautiful," Michiru said as Hotaru stepped
    1.40 +down the stairs. She was wearing a black dress with a
    1.41 +satin bow on the back.

    1.43 +Hotaru turned around twice. "Do you really think so,
    1.44 +Michiru-mama?"
    1.45 +
    1.46 +"Of course," Michiru answered.  She looked proudly at
    1.47 +the girl she had raised as a daughter.  "Oh Ruka, look
    1.48 +at her. She's grown into such a pretty young lady."
    1.49 +
    1.50 +Hotaru blushed, Haruka smiled.  There was a flash of
    1.51 +light as Setsuna took a picture. "I just have to make
    1.52 +sure we have a picture of our little girl's first
    1.53 +dance," said Setsuna.  "So who's the lucky young boy or
    1.54 +girl you're taking to the dance?"

    1.56 +"I'm going with Haruka-papa to pick up ChibiUsa-chan
    1.57 +and then we're heading to the dance," said Hotaru.
    1.58 +Though ChibiUsa was still pretending they were just
    1.59 +friends, Hotaru didn't try very hard to keep it a
    1.60 +secret.

    1.62 +"Oh, so you're taking Small Lady to the dance?" Setsuna
    1.63 +looked at Hotaru knowingly. "She can be quite a
    1.64 +handful. Make sure you two behave and
    1.65 +everything should be fine."

    1.67 +"Setsuna," Michiru giggled.
    1.68 +
    1.69 +"I have to keep an eye out for our daughter, don't I?"
    1.70 +Setsuna replied.

    1.72 +Hotaru sighed. "I don't think you'll have to worry,
    1.73 +Setsuna-mama. I'm only going to the dance with
    1.74 +ChibiUsa, my best friend." She put emphasis on 'best
    1.75 +friend'. That wasn't what she wanted to go as.

    1.77 +"Don't sound too disappointed. I'm sure she's not bad
    1.78 +company.  And you might meet someone while you're
    1.79 +there," Setsuna said.

    1.81 +Hotaru sighed again. 'That's not it.'

    1.83 + "Are you ready?"  Haruka asked. Hotaru nodded and
    1.84 +stood up.  Michiru and Setsuna followed them to the
    1.85 +car.

    1.87 +"Have fun, Hotaru," Michiru said as Hotaru got in the
    1.88 +back seat.

    1.90 +"I will. Thanks!" Hotaru waved as they started to drive
    1.91 +away.

    1.93 +"There she is," Haruka pointed to ChibiUsa waiting in
    1.94 +front of her house. ChibiUsa smiled and started waving
    1.95 +her arms as Haruka pulled up.
    1.96 +
    1.97 +'She's so beautiful,' Hotaru thought.  ChibiUsa had her
    1.98 +hair down. She was wearing a pink dress that fit her well,
    1.99 +covering her shoulders, and with frills at the bottom.
   1.100 +"You look cute," Hotaru said aloud as ChibiUsa climbed
   1.101 +in next to her.
   1.102 +
   1.103 +ChibiUsa smiled happily, glad that Hotaru thought so.
   1.104 +She slowly looked Hotaru up and down, "You're pretty
   1.105 +tonight."
   1.106 +
   1.107 +"Thank you, ChibiUsa-chan," Hotaru said. She laughed.
   1.108 +"But you're supposed to say 'you always look pretty'
   1.109 +after that."
   1.110 +
   1.111 +ChibiUsa laughed as well. "Can I pass it this time?"

   1.113 +Hotaru appeared to contemplate for a moment. "No. Not
   1.114 +this time."

   1.116 +"Okay, then. You always look pretty."

   1.118 +Hotaru smiled. "Good. Thanks again, ChibiUsa-chan."

   1.120 +ChibiUsa smiled back at her. "Anytime, Taru."

   1.122 +Haruka looked into the back of the car with an odd look
   1.123 +on her face. She didn't remember acting like that when
   1.124 +she was that young. Or rather she did, but with a
   1.125 +certain aqua haired girl. The two of them just hadn't
   1.126 +been quite as childish when playing around with each
   1.127 +other. It took Haruka a moment to make a connection.
   1.128 +
   1.129 +She turned around and stared at the back for a few brief
   1.130 +seconds before turning her attention back to the road.
   1.131 +'No,' she thought. 'This is different. They've been
   1.132 +best friends since before we raised Hotaru. I'm
   1.133 +probably just looking into it too deeply. I do tease
   1.134 +Hotaru about it a lot, though.' A smirk formed on
   1.135 +Haruka's face. 'What if I was right the whole time?'
   1.136 +She looked back and saw the two of them talking
   1.137 +quietly, whispering to each other and laughing from
   1.138 +time to time.  She noticed they were both holding hands
   1.139 +as well. It wasn't a big thing in and of itself, but
   1.140 +with how they'd been acting lately, it wasn't too
   1.141 +difficult for Haruka to take that a step further than
   1.142 +friendly hand holding. Haruka's grin widened. 'It would
   1.143 +be nice to win a bet with Michi for once.'
   1.144 +
   1.145 +Both girls started leaning towards each other.  They
   1.146 +sat back quickly as the car turned a corner.
   1.147 +
   1.148 +"You two enjoy yourselves," Haruka said as he stopped
   1.149 +the car by the school.
   1.150 +
   1.151 +"I'm sure we will, "Hotaru said.  She leaned over
   1.152 +ChibiUsa and scooted across.  Hotaru grabbed ChibiUsa's
   1.153 +hand and helped her out.  Neither of them noticed the gray
   1.154 +cat that jumped out of the car after the two of them.
   1.155 +
   1.156 +"Hi, ChibiUsa-chan! Hotaru-chan!" Naruru greeted them
   1.157 +as they walked inside.
   1.158 +
   1.159 +"Neither of you came with someone?"  Ruruna asked.
   1.160 +"That's too bad. Don't worry about it though. C'mon,
   1.161 +Hotaru, we've got somebody you can dance with."
   1.162 +
   1.163 +ChibiUsa grabbed onto Hotaru's arm protectively as
   1.164 +Ruruna and Naruru tried to lead them away. "Hotaru and
   1.165 +I decided to go to the dance together since neither of
   1.166 +us could find anybody."

   1.168 +"Well, I did find someone. She's right around here,"
   1.169 +Hotaru looked around before her gaze settled on
   1.170 +ChibiUsa.
   1.171 +
   1.172 +Naruru scratched her head nervously and looked down.
   1.173 +"Yeah, same with me and Ruruna."
   1.174 +
   1.175 +"We figured, we both helped organize the dance anyway,
   1.176 +so we might be able to help better if we weren't busy
   1.177 +here with someone," Ruruna tried to explain.
   1.178 +
   1.179 +"We're going to make sure everything's going well.
   1.180 +We'll see you two around later," Naruru said.  Ruruna
   1.181 +and Naruru waved before walking away through the crowd
   1.182 +of students.
   1.183 +
   1.184 +"You look nervous, ChibiUsa," Hotaru said as she and
   1.185 +ChibiUsa stood together.
   1.186 +
   1.187 +The pink haired girl smiled at her. "I'm here with
   1.188 +a beautiful girl and I'm not sure what I should do."
   1.189 +
   1.190 +"Well, if you want my advice, kiss her whenever you get
   1.191 +the chance," Hotaru said innocently. She started
   1.192 +leaning towards ChibiUsa slightly. "Like right now."
   1.193 +
   1.194 +ChibiUsa took a step back. "It's a little too crowded."
   1.195 +
   1.196 +Hotaru smiled. "I don't mind."
   1.197 +
   1.198 +ChibiUsa looked at Hotaru for a moment. "You've just
   1.199 +been full of surprises lately."
   1.200 +
   1.201 +Hotaru brushed some hair away from her face. "What do
   1.202 +you mean?"
   1.203 +
   1.204 +The pink haired girl giggled. "I could have sworn you
   1.205 +were the shy one before all this."
   1.206 +
   1.207 +"I just don't think you should have to hide it if you
   1.208 +love someone. I love you. I don't want to pretend any
   1.209 +different." Hotaru smiled. "Besides, I'll be the shy
   1.210 +one if you want. I never remember you being this shy
   1.211 +when we were younger, so I'd love to switch places with
   1.212 +you."
   1.213 +
   1.214 +ChibiUsa stood thinking for a moment. 'She's right. I
   1.215 +never used to act like this before we got together. Why
   1.216 +have I been doing that? Because what if someone finds
   1.217 +out? I can tell that Hotaru's nervous before she does
   1.218 +things a lot of the time, but she's been going ahead
   1.219 +anyway. Has fear of being found out really changed
   1.220 +things for me?'
   1.221 +
   1.222 +"ChibiUsa-chan?" Hotaru asked worriedly. "Are you okay?
   1.223 +I was just kidding."
   1.224 +
   1.225 +"I'm fine, Taru. Just thinking." ChibiUsa smiled
   1.226 +brightly and offered her hand to Hotaru. "Let's dance."
   1.227 +
   1.228 +Hotaru blushed and looked at her for a moment. She took
   1.229 +ChibiUsa's hand with her own. "Hai. I'd love to."
   1.230 +ChibiUsa led the other girl onto the dance floor.
   1.231 +
   1.232 +Momoko stood against a wall, her lavender hair in its
   1.233 +normal single odango hairstyle. She was wearing a dress
   1.234 +that looked vaguely Chinese and cut off at her lower
   1.235 +thighs.
   1.236 +
   1.237 +Momoko looked at ChibiUsa and Hotaru, who were a
   1.238 +bit apart from everyone else.  They seemed to be standing
   1.239 +very close together and getting closer. Momoko couldn't
   1.240 +make out what they were saying. Finally the two went
   1.241 +off into the crowd.
   1.242 +
   1.243 +Standing next to Momoko was a girl in an odd gray and
   1.244 +purple dress with short dark hair.  Momoko was sure
   1.245 +that the other girl was watching Hotaru and ChibiUsa
   1.246 +as well.
   1.247 +
   1.248 +"If Hotaru was teaching ChibiUsa to kiss, then she must
   1.249 +have been getting ready for something. Maybe it's for
   1.250 +someone here at the dance," Diana thought to herself.
   1.251 +
   1.252 +"Excuse me," Momoko said, interrupting her thoughts.
   1.253 +"Are you watching those two?"  She pointed towards
   1.254 +ChibiUsa and Hotaru.
   1.255 +
   1.256 +"I.. I'm sorry... I should go," Diana said before she
   1.257 +turned to leave.  A hand grabbed her shoulder, "Don't
   1.258 +go. I'm sorry if I scared you, but I just wanted to
   1.259 +know if you're watching them. I am too, and I thought
   1.260 +we could compare notes," the lavender haired girl said.
   1.261 +"I'm Momoko, a friend of theirs."
   1.262 +
   1.263 +"I'm Diana, and so am I," Diana replied. She knew
   1.264 +Momoko well, though Momoko didn't know she was
   1.265 +ChibiUsa's cat.
   1.266 +
   1.267 +"That's strange. ChibiUsa has a cat named Diana,"
   1.268 +Momoko said.
   1.269 +
   1.270 +Diana laughed nervously, "I was named after her... I
   1.271 +mean the cat was named after me," she said hastily.
   1.272 +
   1.273 +Momoko laughed, "It's good to meet you. I hope we can
   1.274 +find out whatever it is we're both looking for."
   1.275 +
   1.276 +"Me too," Diana agreed.  She couldn't help blushing as
   1.277 +she looked at Momoko.
   1.278 +
   1.279 +"Are you okay?" Momoko asked.
   1.280 +
   1.281 +"H..Hai" Diana answered.  She looked away quickly.
   1.282 +She had had a crush on Momoko for a long time. She'd
   1.283 +known Momoko for quite a while in her cat form. Momoko
   1.284 +was always very nice to her, petting her and giving her
   1.285 +food.  She hadn't expected to meet Momoko here in her
   1.286 +human form.  "Will you dance with me?" Diana blurted
   1.287 +out.  She blushed as soon as the words were out of her
   1.288 +mouth and looked away.
   1.289 +
   1.290 +Momoko blushed as well and coughed into her fist.  She
   1.291 +thought about it. 'Well, ChibiUsa and Hotaru are
   1.292 +dancing together. It's the same thing.' "That's a good
   1.293 +idea," she said.  "We can get closer to ChibiUsa over
   1.294 +there and see if we can find out what's going on."
   1.295 +This was the first time Momoko had ever been asked to
   1.296 +dance by a girl.  It was... strange.  Plenty of boys had
   1.297 +asked her, though she'd declined. By now at her age most
   1.298 +of the girls had grown out of thinking boys were
   1.299 +stupid, but Momoko still didn't like them much, even if
   1.300 +Kyosuke was her friend. She looked closely at Diana.
   1.301 +She had dark gray hair done up in four odango. She was a bit
   1.302 +smaller than Momoko and was wearing a tight purple dress
   1.303 +with a ruffled skirt that had a gray skirt beneath it.
   1.304 +She wore lavender stockings and had a bow around her
   1.305 +neck.  Diana looked up at her happily. Both girls
   1.306 +continued to blush as they began to dance together.
   1.307 +
   1.308 +Hotaru was a bit shocked that ChibiUsa had asked her to
   1.309 +dance.  ChibiUsa was pretty shy about her relationship
   1.310 +with Hotaru, but Hotaru was shy about it as well, though she
   1.311 +tried not to be.  ChibiUsa was overall more outgoing
   1.312 +than she was and she wished that the pink haired girl
   1.313 +would act that way about the two of them. Hotaru's line
   1.314 +of thought was interrupted as she felt ChibiUsa's hand
   1.315 +on her waist.
   1.316 +
   1.317 +"ChibiUsa, what's gotten into you tonight? Not that I
   1.318 +mind though, but I was sure that you wouldn't want to
   1.319 +do anything like this. I thought I'd be lucky if we
   1.320 +danced at all." Hotaru said.
   1.321 +
   1.322 +ChibiUsa brushed a stray strand of hair away from
   1.323 +Hotaru's face.  "Well, I'd been thinking about this
   1.324 +a lot over the past two days. I had a lot of fun
   1.325 +dancing with you at Usagi's wedding a couple of years
   1.326 +ago and I really wanted to dance with you again.  No
   1.327 +one thought it was strange that we were dancing
   1.328 +together then."
   1.329 +
   1.330 +Hotaru giggled. "Yeah, but we were both about about ten
   1.331 +back then. Of course no one thought it was strange."
   1.332 +
   1.333 +"Two friends can dance together," ChibiUsa said.
   1.334 +
   1.335 +"Hai," Hotaru agreed.  "But I'm sure they don't have
   1.336 +the same intentions I have in mind for you after we get
   1.337 +home."
   1.338 +
   1.339 +ChibiUsa blushed.
   1.340 +
   1.341 +"And I'm sure most of them don't plan on spending
   1.342 +the whole dance together."
   1.343 +
   1.344 +"That's true," ChibiUsa conceded. She hesitated a
   1.345 +second before placing her hand on Hotaru's hip. Hotaru
   1.346 +smiled, and placed her hand on ChibiUsa's side.
   1.347 +ChibiUsa started to remember the many other dances she
   1.348 +had been to in the future
   1.349 +as a new song began. Mostly formal occasions at the
   1.350 +palace in Crystal Tokyo. The only dance she remembered
   1.351 +fondly was when she'd danced with Hotaru at Mamoru and
   1.352 +Usagi's wedding.  She wanted to enjoy her time with
   1.353 +Hotaru whether anyone saw them or not.  The two girls
   1.354 +began to dance. Slowly the rest of the world seemed to
   1.355 +fade away, leaving them oblivious to everything but
   1.356 +each other.

   1.359 +Momoko saw ChibiUsa and Hotaru dancing near her.  She'd
   1.360 +forgotten all about them while dancing with the mysterious
   1.361 +girl.  She blushed. 'I've never felt like this before.
   1.362 +I don't know why, but it feels like I've met her
   1.363 +before. She's very pretty. She's a great dancer too.
   1.364 +She seems so innocent. Who is she?' Momoko's hand slid
   1.365 +down Diana's back, Diana purred happily, Momoko's hand
   1.366 +brushed something soft and furry.  It seemed to be
   1.367 +moving in time to the music. Momoko clutched it,
   1.368 +startling Diana. She turned the smaller girl around,
   1.369 +Momoko stared wide eyed at Diana's tail.  "What... What
   1.370 +is that?" Momoko asked.
   1.371 +
   1.372 +"My tail?" Diana asked, confused. She didn't know why
   1.373 +Momoko was acting so strangely. Suddenly realization
   1.374 +dawned on her.  People didn't have tails. She kept hers
   1.375 +even in her human form, unlike her parents.  She felt
   1.376 +Momoko tug at  her tail.  Diana pushed away, tears
   1.377 +building up in her eyes.  Things had been going so well
   1.378 +with Momoko and now her tail had ruined everything.
   1.379 +Her vision blurred as she wiped some tears away with
   1.380 +her sleeve.  "I..I've got to go.." she said quickly
   1.381 +before heading through the crowd.
   1.382 +
   1.383 +"Wait!!" Momoko yelled as she tried to catch up with
   1.384 +her.  "Matte! Don't go!"  She grabbed for the other
   1.385 +girl, but it was too late. She was already gone.

   1.388 +ChibiUsa smiled happily as she continued to dance with
   1.389 +Hotaru. She loved the comforting feel of Hotaru's hands
   1.390 +on her shoulders. She felt Hotaru's soft skin through
   1.391 +the thin fabric.

   1.393 +"I just realized something," ChibiUsa said.
   1.394 +
   1.395 +"What?" Hotaru asked the pink haired girl.  She blinked
   1.396 +several times as she brought herself back to reality.
   1.397 +She'd tuned out the rest of the world while they'd been
   1.398 +dancing. "All those banquets and dances are going to be a
   1.399 +lot more fun with you there in Crystal Tokyo," ChibiUsa
   1.400 +said smiling.
   1.401 +
   1.402 +Hotaru smiled back lovingly.  Her face was inches away
   1.403 +from ChibiUsa's.  Hotaru learned closer.  ChibiUsa turned,
   1.404 +blushing. Hotaru, kissed her cheek lightly and laughed.
   1.405 +"Taru..."
   1.406 +
   1.407 + Hotaru smiled and ran her hand up ChibiUsa's back.
   1.408 +Her hand reached ChibiUsa's soft pink hair. She gently
   1.409 +brushed it with her fingers.  "I'm really enjoying the
   1.410 +dance.  Thanks for understanding, ChibiUsa-chan."
   1.411 +ChibiUsa sighed as they danced.  She could feel
   1.412 +Hotaru's soft breasts against her.  Her hands lay over
   1.413 +the dark haired girl's graceful form.

   1.416 +They continued dancing for the rest of the night.
   1.417 +Several boys asked ChibiUsa to dance, but she declined.
   1.418 +Hotaru was glad that she got to spend the whole night
   1.419 +with the pink haired girl.  She held ChibiUsa closer,
   1.420 +enjoying the sweet scent of her hair and the soft feel
   1.421 +of her body.

   1.423 +"I love you, Hota-chan," ChibiUsa whispered into
   1.424 +Hotaru's ear.
   1.425 +
   1.426 +"I love you too," Hotaru whispered back.  She noticed
   1.427 +some of the odd looks they received as the two girls
   1.428 +started another slow dance together.  She blushed but
   1.429 +tuned them out and concentrated on the pink haired
   1.430 +girl.  "I had no idea you'd be able to dance as well as
   1.431 +you can," Hotaru remarked.
   1.432 +
   1.433 +"I've always had a hard time dancing.  I'm not very
   1.434 +coordinated."
   1.435 +
   1.436 +"I still think it's cute." Hotaru winked at her.  "So
   1.437 +how did you learn how to dance?"
   1.438 +
   1.439 +"It's kind of embarrassing ," ChibiUsa said.
   1.440 +
   1.441 +"Tell me."
   1.442 +
   1.443 +"There was a banquet being held for some foreign
   1.444 +dignitaries when I was about 10  back in the future.  I
   1.445 +hadn't really danced at all up to that time, but when
   1.446 +someone asked me, I agreed. I tripped and fell a minute
   1.447 +into the dance.  I sat in a chair the rest of the
   1.448 +night. After it was over I talked with my mom for a
   1.449 +while. She made me feel better about the whole thing.
   1.450 +We stayed up all night and she taught me how," ChibiUsa
   1.451 +finished.
   1.452 +
   1.453 +"Ohhh... That's so sweet," Hotaru said. "I can't wait to
   1.454 +meet Usagi again in the future when she's your mother."
   1.455 +
   1.456 +ChibiUsa sighed. "Yeah. I miss her. I really like Usagi
   1.457 +and all, but she's not my mom yet."
   1.458 +
   1.459 +The two of them danced in silence for a short time
   1.460 +before Hotaru hesitantly replied. "You could always ask
   1.461 +Setsuna if she'd let you go to the future for a short
   1.462 +while. I mean, as long as you came back soon."
   1.463 +
   1.464 +ChibiUsa smiled at the purple haired girl.  "Thanks,
   1.465 +Taru but then I'd miss you. When I do go back to my
   1.466 +time I want you to come back with me."
   1.467 +
   1.468 +"Thank you," Hotaru said in relief. Hotaru had been
   1.469 +frightened of ChibiUsa going to the future ever since
   1.470 +ChibiUsa had left several years ago to go back to her
   1.471 +time.  Hotaru was scared that the future princess would
   1.472 +leave again. "You're not going to wait until we go to
   1.473 +the future to tell everyone, right? I still want to
   1.474 +tell my parents about us."
   1.475 +
   1.476 +"Sometime soon, Hotaru-chan.  Actually, I think my mom
   1.477 +might have known before I left. Before I met you when I
   1.478 +was coming back to the past, she said something cryptic
   1.479 +about me having a very important encounter in the past.
   1.480 +I wonder if she was talking about you." ChibiUsa said
   1.481 +thinking of what her mother had said to her.
   1.482 +
   1.483 +"I hope so, " Hotaru smiled happily. Crimson eyes met
   1.484 +dark purple ones as the two girls danced.  "Will you
   1.485 +kiss me?" Hotaru asked suddenly.
   1.486 +
   1.487 +"Hotaru-chan?" ChibiUsa's eyes widened at the dark
   1.488 +haired girl's request.
   1.489 +
   1.490 +"I have been pretty well behaved tonight.  I didn't
   1.491 +have to act like I was just your friend.  I think I've
   1.492 +been a good girl and I deserve a kiss," Hotaru said as
   1.493 +her smile widened.
   1.494 +
   1.495 +"You do, and I'll make sure you get one, but not here."

   1.511 +"Really?" Hotaru asked happily. ChibiUsa nodded. "That
   1.512 +sounds fun," Hotaru giggled. "I still want my kiss
   1.513 +though."

   1.515 +Momoko sighed as she sat with her back against the
   1.516 +wall.  She was very confused. Who was that girl? Why
   1.517 +had she been at the dance?  What was that tail? Was it
   1.518 +part of her outfit?  She sighed again, she'd tried in
   1.519 +vain to find the girl, but she
   1.520 +had been long gone.  She half-heartedly kept watching
   1.521 +ChibiUsa and Hotaru.  The dance had lost all interest
   1.522 +after the mysterious girl had left.
   1.523 +
   1.524 +ChibiUsa and Hotaru giggled, not realizing that Momoko
   1.525 +was looking on.  They looked at each other strangely as
   1.526 +they smiled at one another.  Momoko didn't know why
   1.527 +they were acting the way they were.  Several couples
   1.528 +danced past, blocking her view. They all looked so
   1.529 +happy. Her mind flashed back to Diana.  She sighed
   1.530 +angrily.  Why couldn't she get the mysterious girl out
   1.531 +of her mind? She shook her head and tried to clear her
   1.532 +mind. 'Where'd she go?'  Momoko asked herself.
   1.533 +
   1.534 +The dance finally ended later that night. The students
   1.535 +began to leave the school.  Hotaru and ChibiUsa were
   1.536 +talking in a hallway abandoned by the other students.

   1.538 +"So did you have fun?" Hotaru asked.  ChibiUsa's hands
   1.539 +ran up and down Hotaru's cold, bare arms, trying to
   1.540 +warm the dark haired girl.
   1.541 +
   1.542 +ChibiUsa smiled at Hotaru. "I had a lot of fun,
   1.543 +Taru-chan," she said brightly.

   1.545 +"It still would have been better if we'd gone as a
   1.546 +couple," Hotaru said. She sighed happily as she felt
   1.547 +ChibiUsa's fingers warming her cold arms.

   1.549 +"I know, I know. And I'm sorry. I got to go with the
   1.550 +prettiest girl here and everyone thought we'd come
   1.551 +without dates."
   1.552 +
   1.553 +"That's okay," Hotaru shivered.  "Just as long as you
   1.554 +keep this up. It's cold."

   1.556 +ChibiUsa giggled. "Sure. As long as we trade places in
   1.557 +a couple of minutes."

   1.559 +Hotaru nodded.  "As soon as we're in Haruka-papa's car
   1.560 +with the heater on."
   1.561 +
   1.562 +"You're so cute, Hotaru-chan," ChibiUsa said.

   1.564 +Hotaru smiled "So are you." A finger went under
   1.565 +ChibiUsa's chin. "I never did get that kiss I wanted."
   1.566 +She raised her chin and met the pink haired girl's lips
   1.567 +with her own.  ChibiUsa hands stopped at Hotaru's
   1.568 +shoulders as she kissed her back.

   1.570 +Momoko froze when she saw ChibiUsa and Hotaru.  She'd
   1.571 +been waiting in the hallway to get away from the other
   1.572 +students so she could collect her thoughts.  She had
   1.573 +been about
   1.574 +to greet her two friends when she saw them kiss. She
   1.575 +stood there in shock.  She didn't know what to do.
   1.576 +Finally she slid out a door and made her way outside.

   1.578 +A car pulled up near Hotaru as the two girls waved to
   1.579 +the driver.

   1.581 +"Hi, Haruka-papa," Hotaru said as she and ChibiUsa
   1.582 +climbed into the back of the car.

   1.584 +"How was it?" Haruka asked as she started the car.
   1.585 +
   1.586 +"It was really nice," Hotaru said.

   1.588 +"Thanks for taking us, Haruka-san," ChibiUsa said.

   1.590 +"Don't mention it. You two make a cute couple," Haruka
   1.591 +replied.

   1.593 +Hotaru and ChibiUsa blushed.  "Do you really think so?"
   1.594 +Hotaru asked.  "Don't worry about Haruka-papa.  She's
   1.595 +just teasing us," she whispered to ChibiUsa.  ChibiUsa
   1.596 +relaxed slightly.

   1.598 +"Absolutely." Haruka laughed.  "I'd be happy to
   1.599 +chauffeur you two on any dates you'd like to go on."

   1.601 +"Haruku-papa..." Hotaru chided.

   1.603 +Haruka smiled. "I just want the two of you to know the
   1.604 +offer's open if you do want to go out."

   1.606 +"Umm...Thanks for the offer," Hotaru managed.

   1.608 +"You're welcome," Haruka said. She smiled to herself
   1.609 +slightly. She still didn't quite know what was going
   1.610 +on, but she figured she'd find out sometime.

   1.612 +They drove along in silence for a while before Hotaru &
   1.613 +ChibiUsa started talking to each other about the dance.
   1.614 +Haruka smiled to herself as the two girls talked.  They
   1.615 +were so cute together.

   1.617 +The car finally stopped outside the house the outer
   1.618 +senshi shared.  Michiru and Setsuna came out of the
   1.619 +house to greet them.

   1.621 +"Hi, Puu," ChibiUsa said happily as Setsuna walked up.

   1.623 +"Hello, Small Lady. Did you have a good time?" Setsuna
   1.624 +asked.

   1.626 +ChibiUsa nodded.  "Yeah. It was a lot of fun."

   1.628 +"I'm glad. Hotaru's always so happy when she's going
   1.629 +places with you," Setsuna said. She turned to see
   1.630 +Hotaru talking excitedly to Michiru about the dance.

   1.632 +"I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself, Hotaru-chan.  Did
   1.633 +you dance a lot?" Michiru asked her.

   1.635 +"Yes.  Only with ChibiUsa-chan, though.  I really
   1.636 +enjoyed myself," Hotaru said.

   1.638 +Michiru seemed a little confused. "Nobody asked you to
   1.639 +dance?"
   1.640 +
   1.641 +"No, someone asked me, but I didn't want to.  I was
   1.642 +fine with how things were going,"  Hotaru replied.

   1.644 +Michiru smiled, "Well, I'm glad for you then."

   1.646 +"Thanks. It's getting late. ChibiUsa-chan and I are
   1.647 +going to change.  We'll probably take a shower after
   1.648 +that, so we'll see you all tomorrow. " Hotaru said.

   1.652 +"Goodnight, everyone."  Hotaru waved as she grabbed
   1.653 +ChibiUsa by the hand and led her upstairs. ChibiUsa
   1.654 +waved as she followed Hotaru.

   1.657 +Momoko sat alone in the dark. She was in her room, but
   1.658 +she couldn't get comfortable. She was so confused.
   1.659 +She'd found out why ChibiUsa had been acting so
   1.660 +strangely, but now she didn't know what to do about it.
   1.661 +She wanted to talk to ChibiUsa, but she didn't know how
   1.662 +to bring it up to the pink haired girl. She'd known
   1.663 +Hotaru and ChibiUsa were close, but she was shocked to
   1.664 +learn just how close they really were.

   1.666 +The other thing troubling her was Diana, the mysterious
   1.667 +girl she had been dancing with. She couldn't get that
   1.668 +girl out of her mind, even after seeing Hotaru and
   1.669 +ChibiUsa kissing. She felt oddly about how she'd spent
   1.670 +the night with Diana. She didn't know why, but she was
   1.671 +also afraid she'd never see her again.

   1.673 +Momoko slumped down on her floor and looked out her
   1.674 +window into the night. "Where did you go?" she asked
   1.675 +aloud.

   1.677 +She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to make
   1.678 +sense of the night, but it all seemed so strange to
   1.679 +her. The only thing she knew was that she wanted to see
   1.680 +Diana again.

   1.683 +ChibiUsa hopped back onto Hotaru's bed when they
   1.684 +entered the room.  She yawned as she laid back,
   1.685 +stretching out on the bed.

   1.687 +Hotaru giggled. "Are you tired?"

   1.689 +"Yeah, I didn't get much sleep last night," ChibiUsa
   1.690 +said.

   1.692 +"Me neither. I was trying to decide what I should do at
   1.693 +the dance," Hotaru said.

   1.695 +ChibiUsa sat up. "Really?  Why did you decide not to do
   1.696 +anything?"

   1.698 +"It was a tough decision.  I really, really didn't want
   1.699 +to go as friends. I almost left when Naruru tried to
   1.700 +get us to dance with some boys, but the way you held me
   1.701 +when we slow danced," Hotaru sighed. "I'll be surprised
   1.702 +if no one thinks there was something behind it.  I am
   1.703 +the only one you danced with."  She smiled.  "Anyway,
   1.704 +the reason why I didn't do anything was because I
   1.705 +decided that this is about both of us. I love you and
   1.706 +if that's all that matters to me, then I shouldn't care
   1.707 +if no one knew we were a couple at the dance."

   1.709 +"Arigato, Hotaru-chan," ChibiUsa said.  She looked a
   1.710 +bit sad after listening to Hotaru.

   1.712 +Hotaru sat down beside her.  "What's wrong?" she asked.

   1.714 +"You almost left," ChibiUsa said simply.

   1.716 +Hotaru put her arm around the pink haired girl.
   1.717 +ChibiUsa leaned her head on Hotaru's shoulder.  "It's
   1.718 +just that I get so frustrated sometimes.  I'm so glad
   1.719 +we're together, but I didn't want to be at the dance
   1.720 +with all those people. I was nervous about the whole
   1.721 +thing and I didn't want Naruru to try to set us up with
   1.722 +different boys the whole time. I hated going to the
   1.723 +dance as friends, but I still had fun." She smiled at
   1.724 +the other girl.

   1.726 +ChibiUsa smiled slightly. "I'm glad you stayed. Maybe
   1.727 +next time there's a dance or something, we could go as
   1.728 +a couple," she said quickly. "I was being kinda
   1.729 +stubborn about the whole thing."

   1.731 +Hotaru laughed. "We both were. Maybe we can come up
   1.732 +with a better compromise next time."

   1.734 +"That would be good," ChibiUsa agreed. "I'm really glad
   1.735 +we went tonight."

   1.737 +"So am I. Seeing you dressed up for the dance made it
   1.738 +all worthwhile," Hotaru said. "And I'm glad I finally
   1.739 +got my kiss," she said quietly before kissing ChibiUsa
   1.740 +again.

   1.742 +ChibiUsa kissed the dark haired girl back passionately,
   1.743 +glad to be alone with her. She let out a startled cry
   1.744 +as she felt Hotaru's hands moving across the fabric of
   1.745 +her dress, starting to undress her.

   1.747 +Hotaru sat back. "You did say I could do whatever I
   1.748 +wanted, right?" she asked mischievously. ChibiUsa
   1.749 +nodded and blushed as she felt Hotaru taking her bra
   1.750 +off. Hotaru smiled. "Good. Then I'd like to..." Hotaru
   1.751 +paused as if thinking. ChibiUsa sat anxiously. The dark
   1.752 +haired girl's fingers ran over ChibiUsa's stomach. "I'd
   1.753 +like to tell my parents, then."
   1.754 +
   1.755 +ChibiUsa stared at her for several seconds.
   1.756 +"Hotaru-chan?"
   1.757 +
   1.758 +"You said I could do whatever I wanted," Hotaru
   1.759 +reminded her pink haired lover.
   1.760 +
   1.761 +"But, that's not what I meant," ChibiUsa said quickly.
   1.762 +
   1.763 +"I know what you meant," Hotaru cupped ChibiUsa's
   1.764 +breasts, eliciting a moan from the other girl. "But
   1.765 +what you mean and what you said are two different
   1.766 +things."

   1.768 +ChibiUsa looked nervous. "But, Hotaru..."
   1.769 +
   1.770 +Hotaru laughed. "You did agree." She smiled and kissed
   1.771 +ChibiUsa again. "Now pull your dress back up. They
   1.772 +should still be downstairs."

   1.774 +"But I don't know what to say," ChibiUsa argued.

   1.776 +"Just tell them the truth. That we love each other.
   1.777 +Setsuna's been your friend for years, you know Haruka
   1.778 +and Michiru really well..." Hotaru replied. ChibiUsa
   1.779 +still didn't look convinced. "Please? Do this for me,"
   1.780 +Hotaru asked.

   1.782 +ChibiUsa sighed. "Okay, Taru-chan. I will."
   1.783 +
   1.784 +Hotaru hugged her. "Arigato, Odango-chan!"

   1.787 +Haruka had a triumphant grin on her face as Hotaru
   1.788 +finished up. Michiru looked surprised by the news.
   1.789 +Setsuna looked as if it hadn't really been a surprise
   1.790 +to her at all.

   1.792 +"So the two of you?" Michiru asked.

   1.794 +Hotaru nodded. "Hai. We've been together for a couple
   1.795 +of months now. I'm sorry we hadn't told you all until
   1.796 +now."

   1.798 +ChibiUsa stood to the left and slightly behind Hotaru.
   1.799 +She'd let the other girl do most of the talking.

   1.801 +Setsuna smiled and took a step closer to ChibiUsa.
   1.802 +"Small Lady, you really shouldn't worry about it. We're
   1.803 +all happy for you. You don't need to be embarrassed
   1.804 +about it. We're all here for you."

   1.806 +"And we're glad you found someone, Hotaru," Haruka
   1.807 +said, still wearing the sappy grin she seemed to be
   1.808 +directing at Michiru.

   1.810 +"Thank you," Hotaru said happily.

   1.812 +"As long as you're happy, we're behind you, Hime-chan,"
   1.813 +Michiru said. "You two make a cute couple. Maybe you'll
   1.814 +let me paint the two of you sometime."

   1.816 +"And remember, my offer still stands," Haruka reminded
   1.817 +them.

   1.819 +"I'm glad things have worked out so well for you here
   1.820 +in the past, Small Lady. I'm sure your mother would be
   1.821 +proud of you," Setsuna told to pink haired girl.

   1.823 +"Thanks everyone," ChibiUsa said as she gave Sestuna a
   1.824 +hug.

   1.826 +"Our little girl's growing up, alright," Michiru said.

   1.829 +After a couple of hours talking with Setsuna, Michiru,
   1.830 +and Haruka about the whole situation, Hotaru and
   1.831 +ChibiUsa were back in bed in Hotaru's room. They held
   1.832 +each other, their bare bodies pressed against each
   1.833 +other.

   1.835 +"See? I told you it wouldn't be so horrible," Hotaru
   1.836 +said.
   1.837 +
   1.838 +"You're right. It wasn't that bad," ChibiUsa agreed.
   1.839 +"Good. Then we can tell the Inner Senshi tomorrow."

   1.841 +"Hotaru!"
   1.842 +
   1.843 +She giggled. "I'm kidding. We can tell them later. I'm
   1.844 +just glad I don't have to keep it a secret from my
   1.845 +parents anymore."

   1.847 +"Yeah. I do feel better now that we've told them,"
   1.848 +ChibiUsa said.
   1.849 +
   1.850 +"Me too. I hated hiding it from them."

   1.852 +ChibiUsa smiled. "I'm glad you're happy about it." She
   1.853 +ran her hand through Hotaru's soft hair before kissing
   1.854 +her. "I love you, Taru."

   1.856 +"I love you, too," Hotaru replied while stroking the
   1.857 +other girl's cheek. The two girls held each other 
   1.858 +before sleep finally claimed them.

   1.861 +Momoko lay still in the dark, confused as ever. She 
   1.862 +didn't know what to do about anything that had happened 
   1.863 +that night.

   1.865 +"I wish I could see Diana again," Momoko said aloud.

   1.867 +Diana looked in from where she was perched on the window
   1.868 +sill watching Momoko. She'd felt bad after running off at
   1.869 +the dance. She knew Momoko probably thought she was strange
   1.870 +because of her tail. She'd waited until after the dance and 
   1.871 +followed Momoko home in her kitten form. 'She wants to see
   1.872 +me?' Diana asked herself. She meowed and scratched at the 
   1.873 +window. 
   1.874 +
   1.875 +The lavender haired girl looked out her window to see the 
   1.876 +kitten sitting there in the moonlight. A slight smile 
   1.877 +played across her features. Even if it was only ChibiUsa's
   1.878 +kitten, it was nice to have company. She slid the window 
   1.879 +open. The kitten jumped inside quickly, landing on her bed.

   1.881 +"What are you doing here?" Momoko asked, not expecting an 
   1.882 +answer. She scratched the kitten under her chin. "I meant 
   1.883 +I wanted to see human Diana." Diana meowed again causing 
   1.884 +the other girl to smile again. "I'm still glad to see you,
   1.885 +though." She picked up the kitten and held her in her arms.
   1.886 +She stroked Diana's soft fur. The kitten purred softly as 
   1.887 +Momoko sat back on her bed.
   1.888 +
   1.889 +"I really don't know what happened today. It was all so 
   1.890 +sudden. I was trying to find out what ChibiUsa was keeping
   1.891 +from me, but even though I found out, I'm more confused 
   1.892 +than I was back then." Momoko stopped and sighed. "I met 
   1.893 +this really pretty girl at the dance. She seemed to be
   1.894 +trying to find out the same thing I was, so I thought we 
   1.895 +could help each other. It was so strange, but she asked me 
   1.896 +to dance with her. We danced for a long time and I forgot 
   1.897 +all about what I'd been doing there. It was like I was only 
   1.898 +there to dance with Diana. I loved every second of it. She 
   1.899 +was so cute. And graceful."
   1.900 +
   1.901 +Diana blushed. 'She thinks I'm cute?' 
   1.902 +
   1.903 +"But it ended suddenly. I don't understand what happened. I
   1.904 +don't know if I ever will. Afterwards, she ran off. And it 
   1.905 +hurt. I felt like I'd never see her again, like I'd lost 
   1.906 +something when she'd left. I've been sitting here all night
   1.907 +trying to think, but all I can think about it her. I don't
   1.908 +know why. Well, I didn't know." She sighed again and held
   1.909 +Diana closer as she looked into the dark. "I think I'm in 
   1.910 +love with her."
   1.911 +
   1.912 +Diana's eyes went wide. 'Love? She thinks she loves me? But 
   1.913 +that was the first time she met me as a human.'
   1.914 +
   1.915 +"I feel like I've known her for a long time. I guess you feel
   1.916 +like that when you fall for someone, huh Diana? Like nothing 
   1.917 +else matters besides seeing them again. I want to see her. I 
   1.918 +want to tell her... I'm still not sure what." Momoko lay back 
   1.919 +on the bed, still stroking Diana's fur. Diana was shocked.

   1.921 +Both girls were more confused than ever now. Diana watched 
   1.922 +Momoko as she slept, staying by the lavender haired girl's 
   1.923 +side throughout the night.
