1 The Dark Rainbow Crystals Chapter 2

4 Early the next morning, Hotaru was already up and starring out her
5 window. "It's so beautiful," she thought looking at the sunrise. She
6 walked over to the bed got her cloths, put them on, and left her
7 room. She considered that sitting in the rose garden would be the
8 best pleases to view the rest of the sunrise.
9 She would sometime spin time with the Queen and her mother working
10 in the garden.
11 When she got to her distention she sat down on the bench.
12 She looked at the pink rose that Rini and she planted the other day.
13 "I wish she was here with me," She thought with a sigh. As if on
14 que, she heard someone running up to her. She turned her head to see
15 a pink haired woman running towards her.
16 As Rini ran up to the Palace she saw her best friend setting by
17 herself.
18 "What is Hotaru doing?" she wondered as she stopped in front of her.
19 "Good morning, Hotaru," Rini said.
20 "Oh, good morning Princess,"Hotaru answered getting up and bowing to
21 her.
22 "What are you looking at?"She inquired has she scanned the area for
23 the point of inertest.
24 "I'm watching the sunrise. Would you like to join me? She asked
25 moving over to the side so there is room for her to set down. The
26 princess just nodded and sat down. The two young ladies just sat here
27 is silence watching the beauty in the sky. The sun was making all the
28 roses sparkle like a light hitting a chandelier.

30 "My ladies, your breakfast is ready," voiced the maid gazing down
31 into the gardens. The two looked up and smiled.
32 "Thank you, we'll be right in," replied Rini then glanced over at
33 her friend. "She has really pretty eyes," she thought. Hotaru got
34 up, turned to the Princess, and noticed that she was being looked at.
35 "Why, is she starring at me like that?" she wondered just then they
36 hared a rumble.
37 Rini looked down at her tummy, then back at Hotaru, and smiled. They
38 both started to laugh.
39 "Oh, sorry come on lets get going," the Princess replied walking
40 back into the Palace.
41 Hotaru just followed beside her. They stopped once at Rini's room,
42 so she could put some different pair of clothes on. As she was
43 putting on her clothes her thought stated to wander. ("Why was I
44 starring at her like that"?) She when walked out of her room.
45 On the way to the dinning room they ran into Diana and Momoko coming
46 out of the library with their hair all messed up. The girls stopped
47 and looked at the lovebirds.
48 "What were you guys up to?" asked Rini trying to keep a straight
49 face. Diana and Momoko got very red.
50 Hotaru and Rini couldn't keep it in any longer they busted out in a
51 fit of laughter. About a minute later the two friends stopped
52 laughing, and looked back at the newly engaged pair.
53 "Sorry about that," apologize Hotaru.
54 "I'm sorry, too. Come on, we need to get to the dinning room before
55 all the food is gone," replied Rini.
56 "Ya, before our sweet lovely Princess gets really hungry gets really
57 hungry," Hotaru voiced with a little smile to the princess, started
58 to walk past her, and down the hall.
59 Diana and Momoko just giggled walking past Rini, who had very
60 schlock face. She so followed her friends.
61 "Why dose Hotaru make me blush when she says things like that," Rini
62 thought.
63 As they entered the dinning room, they took their sets and started
64 to eat their breakfast. As everyone was talking amongst, Rini was in
65 deep thought.
66 "Why is this bothering me, it's not like she likes me," "Or is it
67 that I like her? Why are my thoughts so consumed by her?" She
68 sighed. Her mother caught it and turned to her daughter.
69 "Rini is everything alright?"
70 Rini just gave a little smile saying that she was fine.

72 After breakfast Rini, Diana, and Trista went to the study to look
73 over some paper work dealing with the crystals. As they entered, they
74 saw Amy peering at the some book.
75 "Hello Amy," Diana said going up to her
76 "Hello," Amy said not looking up from her book. Rini sat down,
77 grabbed a book, and started to look through it.
78 "From what we knew, they have side affects, and that Hotaru is
79 having dreams about them," Trista informed them.
80 "Are you saying that my best friend is having dreams similar to the
81 ones that my father had previously?" asked Rini looking up at Trista.
82 "Yes"

84 While walking around to the mall, Hotaru, Michelle, and Darien were
85 trying to think of something to get Rini and Helios for there wedding.
86 "I can't believe that our little princess is getting married,"
87 Michelle said.
88 "I knew, am so happy for them," Hotaru replied.
89 "I don't know, I think that Helios isn't supposed to marry my
90 daughter," replied the King.
91 "Why?" asked Michelle while looking at a dress in the window display
92 walked by.
93 "I just have this feeling in my soul that there is someone better
94 then Helios," he replied.
95 "How could that be?" Hotaru asked.
96 "I have an idea, that it's someone very close to her."
97 "Well anyway I think we better get to the mall before it gets too
98 late," Michelle suggested.
99 "Right," the other two said.
100 As they got closer to the mall, Hotaru was thinking, flashes of her
101 dream went though her head. "Hotaru help me!" someone yelled in side
102 her head. At the very same time, Hotaru screamed in pain holding her
103 head. Her body started to fall to the ground, but Darien caught her.
104 "Hotaru, are alright?" Michelle asked with a worried tone.
105 A man in his late twenties came out of the one of the stores, and
106 ran into them. People started too gathered around.
107 "Oh, I'm sorry about that," he replied with a little bow, then
108 walked away. Hotaru gazed up and saw the crystal in his eyes. The
109 crystal was a dark red, like blood.
110 "Mother, he…. has… a…. crystal," she whispered before she passed out.
111 Darien and Michelle looked over to the man that just walked in to
112 them. They looked at one another, and nodded.
113 "Michelle, take her back to the palace, and then tell my wife what
114 happened here," Darien ordered her, and started to walk off in the
115 direction the man went.
116 She nodded, picked up her daughter, and turned towards the palace.
117 When she got to the palace she put Hotaru in her room, and then went
118 to tell the Queen.

120 Hotaru was looking around. "Where am I?"
121 "Hotaru, you alright?" asked a soft voice. Hotaru looked around, and
122 found the person that was talking to her. It was Sailor Saturn.
123 Hotaru couldn't do anything; she just sat there looking at herself.
124 "It's ok Hotaru, I won't heart you," holding her hand out to help
125 her up. Hotaru took her hand and got up.
126 "What's going on here, why do you look like me?"
127 "I look like you because I am you; your sailor part."
128 "Oh…. Why? Did I pass out?"
129 "I think it was the crystal, but from what I can tell we're alright."
130 "Well, that's good." Hotaru said looking around to see were she was.
131 "Hotaru!" a voice was heard. Saturn looked around trying to find out
132 were the voice was coming from. She held Hotaru protectively.
133 "It's Rini." with shock in her voice
134 "Yes, the Princess, I think you have better get up, see what is
135 going on, and remember if you need to talk just think of me and I'll
136 be here."
137 "Right"
138 "Don't worry, Rini, she'll wake up soon," Trista said.
139 "It's mother," Hotaru said.
140 "We need to wake up," replied Saturn hugging Hotaru. They both
141 closed their eyes. When she opened her eyes this time she saw that
142 she was in her room. She looked around to see Trista, and Princess
143 Rini talking about something at the end of her bed.
144 The Princess turn her head to the right to see her friend getting
145 off her bed, she walked really fast over to her ,and gave her a hug,
146 She was thanking God that she was safe, healthy, and awake.
147 "Taru-Chan, are you feeling better?"
148 She nodded, "What's up with the nickname?" Hotaru thought as she
149 hugged back

151 At the other end of the city, Darien followed the man to the beach
152 were he stopped.
153 "What do you what?" he asked
154 "What is you name?" Darien asked taking out a red rose from is coat.
155 "Zack" turning around to see a while flash, he closed his eyes from
156 the light.
157 When the light dimmed down, The King of Crystal Tokyo was standing
158 there.
159 "My King" he said bowed down.
160 "Zack, there is something I need form you."
161 I knew what you asking of me," (he pauses for a moment) "the crystal."
162 The King just looks on in shock. "How do you..."
163 "My mother told me, before she died, she said that she been having a
164 repeating dream," (he turned back around) "There's this woman with
165 long pink hair standing next to my mother and telling her that her
166 son will have one of the seven Dark Rainbow Crystals, but only
167 Princess Saturn could have it."
168 The King pondered. The realization that Rini and Hotaru could both
169 be connected to possession of the crystals began to set in his mind.
170 The sickening feeling that his only daughter could be in peril seeped
171 into the king's soul; the link between Rini and Hotaru, to the
172 crystals alluded and deeply troubled him.
173 "Honey!" someone yelled from behind them. They turned around to see
174 the queen running up to them, with Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury just
175 behind her.
176 "Darien, are you alright?" "I came as soon as I heard from Neptune."
177 "I'm fine, but we have a problem, Saturn is the only one that can
178 have the crystal."
179 "Why Hotaru?" asked Neptune. She could feel sadness deep down in her
180 that her only daughter is in danger again.
181 "From what I can tell; Saturn is linked to this crystal, I'm certain
182 of that," Darien said.
183 "He's right, we need Saturn here, or we would able to get it,"
184 Mercury said while tipping on her mini computer.
185 "Are you certain, Mercury?" asked the Queen.
186 "Very certain," she replied.
187 "I'll call her," the King said taking is cell out.

189 Hotaru was in her office looking out the window. She just got done
190 talking to the King, saying that they need her to come to the beach
191 on the west side of the city. She didn't know why, but said that she
192 would be there as soon as she could.
193 "Why me?" she though at the sometime there was a knock at the door
194 taking. This took her out of her thoughts.
195 "Come in." The door opened, and a woman about 28 years old came in.
196 She had a greenish-black dress on, with black hair and a long ponytail
197 "Hello, Seiya,"
198 "Ya, How is very thing going?" as she sat down. The room was about
199 the size of a small classroom. It had two big windows on both sides
200 of the room, and about eighty different lamps.
201 I'm alright; I got a call from the King. He asked me to come to the
202 west side of the city, something about the crystal."
203 Seiya looked a little worried about this, she had heard about the
204 crystals from Trista, and didn't like were this was going. What mad
205 this even more upsetting was the idea that she couldn't help.
206 "I'm not sure what to say."
207 "You don't have to worry Seiya-mama, but if you would like to come
208 with me, I wouldn't mind."
209 She was glad that she could help with something.
210 "Well take our car, if you would like," a voice said from behind
211 them. The two turned around to see who it was.
212 "Thanks mother," replied Hotaru with a smile, she was happy to have
213 a caring family. She walked over to her desk to get her coat and back
214 to her mothers. Then the trio went out the door.
215 As the three to the car, a white convertible rolled up next to them.
216 The doors opened, Rini and Helios came out.
217 "Where are you guys off too?" asked Rini walking around the car a
218 stand next to her fiancé.
219 "Your father called and need to see Hotaru right away," Trista told
220 her, then got it to the front seat of the car.
221 "Later guys," Seiya said while getting into the driver seat and
222 closed the door. Hotaru just got in and closed the door, and they
223 took off. As soon as the car was out of sight, Rini let go of Helios.
224 He looked at her.
225 "I'm going; I need to speak with my mother about something." She
226 kisses him and walking in to the Palace. He just nodded, got back
227 into the car, and drove off.
228 As Rini walked down the hall to her mother's office, she ran into
229 Venus, and her little girl.
230 "Well, hello Venus, and you too Dainae" Dainae was eight year old.
231 She has blond hair like her mother. She is wearing a blue spaghetti
232 strap dress with little pink rose all around it.
233 "Hello Princess, we're you off too?" asked Venus holding onto
234 Dainae's hand.
235 "I'm on my way too see my mother, I need to speck to her."
236 "Oh, I think your mother told me that she heard from Neptune that
237 they were going to the west side beach."
238 "Why did she go there?"
239 "I think it was because they found the first crystal." "I think its
240 time for a nap," Venus said in low voice looking down at a tired
241 little girl, who was falling asleep. "I'm going to get this little
242 one to bed, I'll talk to you later Princess," She said walking way.

244 Rini just stand there thinking to herself. Then it hit her, wasn't
245 that were Hotaru was going with Trista, and Seiya. She ran to her
246 room, got her keys, got on her motorcycle, and drove off as fast as
247 she could go.
248 "I'm coming Taru-chan." At the same time she transformed into her
249 sailor uniform.

251 Darien turned his head when he heard a car stop. Three females got
252 out of the car and approached them.
253 "Is that they guy?" asked Trista looking right a Zack.
254 "Yes"
255 Zack turned around, looked right at Hotaru, "I knew she come."
256 He walked up to her and held his hand out to her. Hotaru just looked
257 at him then at the hand, and back at him.
258 "Please, take my hand Saturn, it's the only way."
259 She nodded and slowly gave him her hand. As she took his hand his
260 body started to get very hot, it was even turning sand into to glass.
261 Then with a blinding light the body was gone and the blood crystal
262 fell into Hotaru's hand. At that very moment Rini rode up, she
263 shielded her eyes form the light, as she got off her bike, and ran
264 over to her parents.
265 "What happened." She asked approaching them.
266 "I don't know," answered her mother.
267 As the light dimmed down, they all say that Hotaru was on her knees.
268 Rini toke off to see if her friend was alright.
269 "Taru-chan, you alright?"
270 "Rini, we're you, I can't see you?" she asked looking left and right.
271 "What are you talking about?" "I'm right in front of you." Then she
272 scanned her friend's body for any ingress, and notices at that her
273 eyes were a milky white color.
274 Hotaru moved her hands and touched her friends face. Rini just
275 looked at her, she couldn't take it any more.
276 "Mercury, get over here now!" The other ran over to them. Rini help
277 Hotaru to her feet.
278 "What happened?" asked Mercury looking at Hotaru
279 "Well, other then I can't see a thing, I feel find," Hotaru said
280 turning her head to everyone. The shock went though everyone.
281 "Would you stop panicking, you're starting to scare me."
282 "Kitten…." Uranus started then stops.
283 "I can feel you guys looking at me," she answered
284 "Mercury, what do you think?" asked the King
285 "It's the side effect from the crystal, I tell you that much." She
286 said scanning the crystal in Hotaru's hand.
287 "Do you knew how long it will last?" asked the Queen.
288 "It's hard to tell, I don't have all the information at this time to
289 say," she replied.
290 "Well, we better get you home Hotaru," said Neptune taking her
291 daughter to the car and driving home.
292 "You coming Rini?" asked her mother
293 "I think I'm going to stay here a while ok," she replied turning
294 started to walk down the beach
295 "Alright, but done be to long dear," and walked back to her car.

297 As Rini walked down the beach, she could feel the wind blowing
298 past her. She stops and looked out at the sea. The feel she was
299 getting was different and new to her.
300 "What is this feeling?"
301 "What are you doing out her, by yourself?" asked a person. Rini
302 looked beside her; it was a little girl about ten years old with dark
303 eyes, and long black hair. She wears a blue dress with a white hat.
304 "What are you doing?" she asked again.
305 "Just thing"
306 "About what?"
307 "You're a curious little kitten, aren't you?" The little girl just
308 looked up and smiled.
309 "You look upset?"
310 "You could say that" she kneeled down "What's your name?"
311 "Oh, sorry about that, my name is Sierra," she answered with a
312 little curtsy.
313 "Well Sierra, I have a friend that just lost her sight."
314 "Oh, is she alright?"
315 "I hope so."
316 "Shouldn't you be with her, it's seem that you really care about her."
317 "I wanted to, but…"
318 "What are you afraid of, it's not like you're in love with her?" "I
319 mean you have Helios." "Do you really need her in your life?"
320 "What did you just say?" Rini asked turning her head to Sierra, but
321 she wasn't there.
322 Rini looked around but couldn't find her.
323 "Where did she go?" After about a minute she got back on her bike,
324 and rode home.

326 On the other side of the city, Sierra walked in to the park, and
327 sat next to the lake, and looked up at the stars. They looked like
328 little fireflies dancing around.
329 "There really pretty aren't they?" A woman said walking up to
330 Sierra. She looked to be in her middle twenties with long hair, and
331 violet eyes. She sat down, and looks up at the stars with Sierra.
332 "They say that if you see a shooting star and the first person that
333 you think of will become your soul mate."
334 "Do you really believe that mother?" she asked as she lied down on
335 her mother's lap.
336 Her mother didn't say any thing just looked up at eh stars. Sierra
337 looked up; she could see the pain in her mother's eyes, as if a knife
338 was digging into her heart really slowly. She knew her mother has
339 been trying for years to see a shooting star. A tear hit her face.
340 She looked up and saw her mother crying. It was something that she
341 had to get use to. She that is way she sworn that she would kill them
342 for what they did.
