9 The Heart of Ra
rlm@2
10
rlm@2
11
rlm@2
12 As Nakia and Ramla walked up to Ramla's mother they bowed and smiled
rlm@2
13 at her.
rlm@2
14 "Well, this Phoenix showed me everything so I knew what is going
rlm@2
15 on," she told them with a kind smile.
rlm@2
16 "What is your name, young lady?" she asked, looking at the black
rlm@2
17 haired girl who stood next to her daughter. Ramla looked over to her
rlm@2
18 new friend and saw fear in Nakia's eyes, so she took her friends hand
rlm@2
19 in her own.
rlm@2
20 Nakia didn't know what do say, she couldn't tell if she was coming
rlm@2
21 or going. She then felt someone take her hand and a sudden clam came
rlm@2
22 over her. She turned her head a little and saw Ramla smiling at her.
rlm@2
23 Nakia smiled slightly in return and nodded to her, then she looked
rlm@2
24 back to the Queen and saw her smiling in the same way her daughter
rlm@2
25 had been.
rlm@2
26 "My name is Nakia, it's nice to meet you," she said with a little
rlm@2
27 bow to the Queen.
rlm@2
28 "It's nice to meet you Nakia, I'm Queen Neith," she said as she
rlm@2
29 stood up and - to Nakia's surprise - embracing the dark haired girl.
rlm@2
30 As Neith let go of Nakia, she whispered in her ear,"Take care of
rlm@2
31 her, she'll need you, and from what it looks you need her too."
rlm@2
32 As the Queen laughed slightly when she saw how red the girl's pale
rlm@2
33 face had become. The Queen walked over to her daughter and hugged her
rlm@2
34 as well: then whispered, "Ramla, no madder what your father says,
rlm@2
35 she needs to stay here with you; take care of her." She smiled at the
rlm@2
36 two and walked back into the room, where she stopped and called back
rlm@2
37 to them: "Oh, don't let your father or the dratted priest see you two
rlm@2
38 holding hands, even if I don't mind."
rlm@2
39 Ramla and Nakia looked at one another, then at their hands, and then
rlm@2
40 back to each other. They let go of each other's hand and started to
rlm@2
41 blush again. Sanura watched them, and smiled slightly.
rlm@2
42 "Very nice Ra, very nice, I can't wait to see we're your going with
rlm@2
43 this," she thought. "Come on you two, it looks like the rains going
rlm@2
44 too started again," Sanura told them while walking into the room.
rlm@2
45 Ramla and Nakia nodded, walked in and saw Neith sitting down on a
rlm@2
46 chair petting the Phoenix.
rlm@2
47 Sanura walked up to her Queen and bowed to her.
rlm@2
48 "I'm sorry my Queen I forgot to intruduce myself: I am Sanura, a
rlm@2
49 priestess of Goddess Selkhet."
rlm@2
50 Her Queen smiled and nodded. She looked over to her daughter and
rlm@2
51 Nakia, who had just come in. They walked over to the other chairs and
rlm@2
52 sat down, while Sanura walked over to the bed and sat down on it.
rlm@2
53 "Layla, could you bring some water and food for my daughter's
rlm@2
54 friend?" she asked the queen to someone out side the other door way.
rlm@2
55 A young woman in her teens walked in. She had on a nice looking
rlm@2
56 dress, and had purple hair pulled back in a bun, though strands still
rlm@2
57 flew loose around her face. She walked over to her queen and bowed,
rlm@2
58 and then looked around the room. When she saw Sanura, her heart
rlm@2
59 jumped.
rlm@2
60 Sanura felt someone watching; she turned and saw the young woman the
rlm@2
61 queen had called for looking at her.
rlm@2
62 "Is there something wrong?" Sanura asked looking back with a smile.
rlm@2
63 Layla blushed, shook her head and left to get food and water for them.
rlm@2
64 The rain out side started to come down hard. The wind was picking
rlm@2
65 up. Sanura walked over to the windows in the room and closed them.
rlm@2
66 She turned around and saw that everyone else wore glazed expressions
rlm@2
67 on their faces as they sat still and deep in thought. She then
rlm@2
68 walked back to her seat and waited, though what she was waiting for
rlm@2
69 she did not know.
rlm@2
70 *******
rlm@2
71 While Layla was walking to kitchen, her mind kept going to back to
rlm@2
72 the priestess.
rlm@2
73 "Why is my heart beating so hard? What is going on with me?" she
rlm@2
74 spoke to thin air, wondering if anyone would answer: of course no
rlm@2
75 answer came, so Layla was left wondering and slightly scared.
rlm@2
76 She walked very slowly into the kitchen. Her head was spinning: she
rlm@2
77 was about to fall but someone caught her before she hit the ground.
rlm@2
78 She turned her head to see the High Priest of the god Anubis. He
rlm@2
79 smiled maliciously at her and thrust her away from him as though she
rlm@2
80 was a poisonous spider or something else that may have contaminated
rlm@2
81 him.
rlm@2
82 "Well, what do we have here, a little slave all by her self," he
rlm@2
83 hissed in a venom-laced voice. Layla felt a pang of horror in her
rlm@2
84 chest as she saw his eyes turn black as obsidian and start to glow.
rlm@2
85 Flashes of her mother being beaten by the same man in front of her
rlm@2
86 swam through her mind. Layla saw her mother give her life for her
rlm@2
87 when he had tried to kill her; she was about four years old at the
rlm@2
88 time. Layla fell to the floor, clutching her head and trying
rlm@2
89 desparately to get the images out of her mind.
rlm@2
90 "Stop it! Please stop it! Make it stop!" she pleaded to him, tears
rlm@2
91 running down her face. He just smiled evilly at her and kicked her
rlm@2
92 over to the door. She lay there, holiding her brusided side and
rlm@2
93 crying freely now.
rlm@2
94 "I'll make it stop when you put this poison in the princess' new
rlm@2
95 friend's water," came the reply.
rlm@2
96 Layla wanted this flash to stop, but something in back of her head
rlm@2
97 told her to hold on; help was on the way. She screamed as she saw her
rlm@2
98 mother laying dead, her eyes lifeless, her corspe soaked in her own
rlm@2
99 blood.
rlm@2
100 The Priest was just enjoying the show as he put more images in to
rlm@2
101 Layla mind. What he didn't know was that a beautiful woman was
rlm@2
102 watching the whole thing in the rain. Of course no one would have
rlm@2
103 noticed her; it was as though she was part of the rain; you couldn't
rlm@2
104 tell if she was there or not. Her eyes started to flash redder and
rlm@2
105 redder until they had attained the hue of garnets. She had seen all
rlm@2
106 she needed to: she disappeared.
rlm@2
107 ******
rlm@2
108 She appeared in Ra's Throne room and saw her husband sitting on his
rlm@2
109 throne with his eyes closed. She knew that his plan was already in
rlm@2
110 motion, but what she had seen told her that she needed to stop it,
rlm@2
111 regardles of her husband's wishes.
rlm@2
112 "Anubis!" she yelled, walked over to her throne, and sat down. Ra
rlm@2
113 opened his eyes to see a very angry wife sitting next him. He knew
rlm@2
114 what had happened and had already sent a message to his phoenix.
rlm@2
115 Things were moving faster then he hoped, but nevertheless he was
rlm@2
116 confident that his plan would work.
rlm@2
117 The Great door opened and in walked the god Anubis. He bowed to them
rlm@2
118 and waited to to hear why he had been summoned.
rlm@2
119 "Anubis, could you tell me why your High Priest is trying to kill
rlm@2
120 Nakia?" asked Selket with anger in her voice. Ra didn't say a thing:
rlm@2
121 he just waited to what his son said.
rlm@2
122 "I have just seen what was happening, and was about to do something
rlm@2
123 about it," came the swift reply. "But, you must have known that he
rlm@2
124 has been doing this for years now, and I can't see why you would stop
rlm@2
125 him now of all times, because of one pathetic human."
rlm@2
126 Selket's eyes flashed red. "Anubis, be careful what you say, I love
rlm@2
127 all of my daughters, and will care for them always; what your Priest
rlm@2
128 did to that girl's mother was wrong: so I blanked out the memory from
rlm@2
129 her mind so that she would never have to feel that again, and then
rlm@2
130 your damn Priest revived it and subjected that poor girl to pain you
rlm@2
131 could probably never imagine."
rlm@2
132 "Forgive me for saying this, Selket, but out of the entire human
rlm@2
133 woman in the world you seem to be fondest of these three," Anubid
rlm@2
134 said, and with a wave of his hand had summoned images of Nakia,
rlm@2
135 Sanura, and Layla into the air around the them.
rlm@2
136 "I don't see the differences of the ones I'm fond of?" he asked.
rlm@2
137 Selket knew he was right, even her husband had humans to protect
rlm@2
138 above all others, and that was Ramla and her mother, Neith.
rlm@2
139 Ra watches them and had a hidden smile; he knew his plan would
rlm@2
140 work. What his wife and son didn't know was that there was more to
rlm@2
141 Nakia and Ramla then meets the eye. Once their feelings for each
rlm@2
142 other hit its maximum point, not even Anubis Priest could stop them.
rlm@2
143 He loved all of his people and will not have any evil run around his
rlm@2
144 world, causing peace to fall into utter chaos.
rlm@2
145 "Anubis, think about what you're doing, and dear wife, Anubis is
rlm@2
146 right; we gods and goddess have certain humans that we are most fond
rlm@2
147 of," he told them
rlm@2
148 "Anubis that is all, you may go, and thank you" Ra told him and
rlm@2
149 waved his hand.
rlm@2
150 Anubis bowed to them, and then returned to his own halls. He closed
rlm@2
151 the door behind him then his parents began, once again, to speak.
rlm@2
152 "Ra, I wont let that Priest kill her or any human woman," she told
rlm@2
153 her husband.
rlm@2
154 Ra smiled at his wife, and kissed her on the lips.
rlm@2
155 "Don't worry my dear Selkhet, I always have a back up plan: I have
rlm@2
156 sent a message to my pet, and I believe that you might soon see
rlm@2
157 something really... what is the word the humans use, oh yes, cool."
rlm@2
158 He told her with a little laugh. Selket just held on to him and knew
rlm@2
159 he would help; he always had a big heart.
rlm@2
160 *******
rlm@2
161 In Ramla's quarters the four women sat there waiting for Layla. No
rlm@2
162 conversation passed between them, as all were still deep within their
rlm@2
163 own thoughts. Ramla was trying to find something say to Nakia.
rlm@2
164 "Why, why do I just wanted her to hold me, and never let go, what
rlm@2
165 can I say do show that . . . Ra help please what do I do?" She kept
rlm@2
166 looking over to her black haired friend, who was looking out the
rlm@2
167 window.
rlm@2
168 Nakia was also in deep thought as she looked out the window at
rlm@2
169 nothing in particular.
rlm@2
170 "I have felt this feeling before, but it's a little different.
rlm@2
171 Goddess, I know you're watching me, could you please show me a sign
rlm@2
172 that will help me understand this feeling, and why it's coming from
rlm@2
173 Ramla every time?" She turned her head little to see Ramla looking at
rlm@2
174 her. Her mouth kept opening and close like she wanted to say
rlm@2
175 something. Nakia started to giggle.
rlm@2
176 "Ramla is there something on your mind, because if you keep opening
rlm@2
177 and close you mouth you might catch a fly."
rlm@2
178 Ramla blush at be caught doing that, and smiled at her friend.
rlm@2
179 "I was trying think of something to talk about, that's all," she
rlm@2
180 replied.
rlm@2
181 "Why don't you tell me about things you like to do, and I will do
rlm@2
182 the same," Nakia replied. As the two young girls talked about things,
rlm@2
183 Neith watched them and thought.
rlm@2
184 " My, My, Ra you have out done yourself this time, and the power
rlm@2
185 coming from them is very great, I just hope they tell each other how
rlm@2
186 they feel before something bad happens."
rlm@2
187 Neith was happy that her one and only daughter was happy and may
rlm@2
188 have found someone to be with, but was also little sad to let her
rlm@2
189 daughter go, but she knew it need to happen.
rlm@2
190 Sanura was watching the door that Layla left out of; she had a
rlm@2
191 feeling that something wasn't right.
rlm@2
192 "Something wrong, I just knew it, could it be him." She then heard
rlm@2
193 someone scream and looked around the room, startled. Ramla and Nakia
rlm@2
194 were talking, and the queen was watching them: none of them seemed to
rlm@2
195 have heard the scream.
rlm@2
196 She looked over to Ra's Phoenix, which had its eyes closed.
rlm@2
197 The Phoenix in Neith's lap opened it eyes and took off very fast,
rlm@2
198 screaming its song the whole time. All four women stopped what they
rlm@2
199 were doing, looked at one anther, and took off to find out what was
rlm@2
200 going on. As they ran down hall they heared someone screaming: but
rlm@2
201 whom it was they still had yet to find out.
rlm@2
202
rlm@2
203 A/N- I hope you like this chapter; I hope to have the next chapter
