8 Ra's Pet Dragon
rlm@2

rlm@2
10 The Phoenix flew very quickly down the hall, its eyes glowing redder
rlm@2
11 and get redder as it went. The flames its wings began to increase in
rlm@2
12 size and flare out on either side of it. Layla felt something
rlm@2
13 powerful coming her way, closer and closer with every passing second;
rlm@2
14 she knew she should have been terrified, but whatever it was couldn't
rlm@2
15 be worse than the memories she was seeing, could it? The flashes of
rlm@2
16 her mother stopped and Layla slumped forward, gasping for breath as
rlm@2
17 though she had been saved from drowning. Anubis' Priest saw a glow
rlm@2
18 golden flame coming down the hall and narrowed his eyes.
rlm@2
19 "Well, it looks like time's up" he thought as he tried to walk to
rlm@2
20 the side door, but found that he couldn't move. The Phoenix dove into
rlm@2
21 the room, landed behind Layla and put its flaming wings around her to
rlm@2
22 shield her. Layla felt so safe and warm that she fell asleep, all
rlm@2
23 worries banished from her mind. The bird didn't take her eyes off the
rlm@2
24 priest: it so wanted to attack him, but it had to make sure that the
rlm@2
25 human was alright until other humans came… then he was going to feel
rlm@2
26 what Hell's fire really was. The Phoenix began once more to sing, but
rlm@2
27 this time it was a scream of pure rage and hatred, so loud that the
rlm@2
28 very palace itself began to shake. The Priest fell to the floor with
rlm@2
29 his hands to his ears so as to somewhat block out the infernal noise.
rlm@2
30 "I believe that I have made it mad, will this should be fun," he
rlm@2
31 smirked, got back on his feet and began to concentrate: quite
rlm@2
32 suddenly his eyes turned black.
rlm@2
33 "So Ra sends his only pet to stop me; I'm not scared of you, so
rlm@2
34 let's play!" he yelled at it and laughed evilly.
rlm@2
35 The phoenix knew that he was up to something, but couldn't tell
rlm@2
36 what. She could hear someone enter from the left and then more from
rlm@2
37 the right. She saw the Great Pharaoh to the left: he was standing
rlm@2
38 there looking shocked and a little scared as to what was happening.
rlm@2
39 His eyes showed a different story; it showed power and it had the
rlm@2
40 eyes of a loving father. She then felt the humans behind her. She
rlm@2
41 removed her wings and took off towards Anubis' priest with anger. The
rlm@2
42 priest just saw the pharaoh and the women enter the room. He smirked
rlm@2
43 has Ra's pet came towards him: he let the firebird hit him and they
rlm@2
44 both went through the wall and out into the storm. His body rolled
rlm@2
45 around on the ground like a rag doll. He finally stopped when his
rlm@2
46 body hit one of the columns near the palace. The rain and wind wasn't
rlm@2
47 helping much with this, he noted: he slowly got up and looked around
rlm@2
48 for the damned bird. It was hard to see with this rain coming down
rlm@2
49 like it was, and the wind was trying to push him around. He finally
rlm@2
50 saw it and it was coming right at him. He could steam where the rain
rlm@2
51 had hit the Phoenix's flaming wings.
rlm@2
52 "Well, it looks like it's going to try to kill me, how quaint; it
rlm@2
53 will never truly be able to do that, but oh well, it seems that I
rlm@2
54 must kill it instead. I knew that I can't really kill you, my dear
rlm@2
55 Phoenix, but we're in darkness and that is my element." He thought as
rlm@2
56 he moved into the shadow of the columns and made his eyes glow black
rlm@2
57 again: then he disappeared into the shadows themselves. He moved very
rlm@2
58 fast in the shadows and got right beside the bird. He just smiled
rlm@2
59 evilly as a sword appeared in his hand and attacked the Phoenix.
rlm@2
60 As the phoenix saw him disappear, she thought about where would he
rlm@2
61 attack. Then she saw something moving in the shadows.
rlm@2
62 It was the High Priest; he was moving throughout the shadows in such
rlm@2
63 a way that she could have sworn he had become a part of them: still
rlm@2
64 she didn't have much time to think about that as he attacked. She
rlm@2
65 moved out of the way just before the sword hit her side. Golden
rlm@2
66 feathers shot from her left wing at him as she rolled to her side,
rlm@2
67 then he moved back into the shadow and disappeared.
rlm@2
68 The priest looked around and saw the feathers that came out of the
rlm@2
69 bird burst into flames.
rlm@2
70 "Well I didn't see that one coming, I believe it's time to disappear
rlm@2
71 for now, I can't win with the weather like this - it slows me down to
rlm@2
72 much. I will have other chance soon enough," he thought. He stepped
rlm@2
73 out into the open and saw the young women and the Pharaoh, who was
rlm@2
74 holding his wife. They were looking out into the rain watching what
rlm@2
75 had happened between himself and the phoenix.
rlm@2
76 "Well, it looks like I can take care of one problems before I go" he
rlm@2
77 thought evilly, then he moved as fast as he could through the rain,
rlm@2
78 trying to keep from be seen by Ra's little toy.
rlm@2
79 As the Pharaoh held this wife, his mind went back to what had
rlm@2
80 happened before all of this.
rlm@2
81
rlm@2
82 (Flashback)
rlm@2
83 The Pharaoh entered the room to see a fire-like bird shielding
rlm@2
84 something with its wings then he looked behind the animal and saw
rlm@2
85 this wife, daughter, and the two young ladies. One looked like she
rlm@2
86 was a priestess - he could tell by the clothes she was wearing - but
rlm@2
87 the other woman, the one with black hair, was wearing a tattered
rlm@2
88 dress that looked very old and worn. As they stopped behind the bird,
rlm@2
89 it opened it wings to reveal one of its wounds, she looked like she
rlm@2
90 was in bad shape. The bird had then taken off and attacked the
rlm@2
91 priest. With the power behind the flying firebird they both went
rlm@2
92 flying through the wall and out into the rain. The priestess walked
rlm@2
93 over to the young girl on the floor to see if she was alright. She
rlm@2
94 picked up her and as they left he saw his daughter holding on to the
rlm@2
95 other woman with black hair. His wife was just standing there with a
rlm@2
96 worried look on her face. He walked over to them.
rlm@2
97 "I believe, my wife, that you have some things to tell me," he said:
rlm@2
98 it was not so much a question as a statement.
rlm@2
99 His wife just nodded and told her everything that she thought was
rlm@2
100 important. He believed what she told him; why would she lie? He then
rlm@2
101 looked over to his daughter and smiled at her. He walked over to the
rlm@2
102 hall with his wife to see what was going on. His daughter and friend
rlm@2
103 were close by and were still holding one another.
rlm@2
104 ((End Flashback)
rlm@2
105
rlm@2
106 The Priest moved up to the Queen and Pharaoh with his sword ready to
rlm@2
107 attack. The Pharaoh just saw the man run right at him; he knew what
rlm@2
108 was happening, so he pushed his wife to the side, and took the hit
rlm@2
109 hard. The sword went through his heart like a knife through butter.
rlm@2
110 Lightning hit the ground as his body fell, never to get back up
rlm@2
111 again. The three women just looked on with shock. Neith saw her
rlm@2
112 husband mouth 'I love you' before he died. She slowly crept over to
rlm@2
113 him and closed his eyes. She looked over to her one and only daughter
rlm@2
114 and started to cry.
rlm@2
115 Ramla saw her father fall and her mother crying. She looked up to
rlm@2
116 Nakia and saw a glowing like she never saw before. The feeling coming
rlm@2
117 from her friend was a deep sadness. She just held her with all the
rlm@2
118 power that she had. Nakia saw it again and again and knew that no
rlm@2
119 matter what pain she felt she knew that, for Ramla it must have been
rlm@2
120 a thousand times worse.
rlm@2
121 Her thoughts kept flashing back to that what had just happened
rlm@2
122 before for her and what had happen to her father. It was the same
rlm@2
123 thing, her mother crying over her husband with her little girl
rlm@2
124 looking on.
rlm@2
125 "Ramla, it's happing again, he needs to be stopped now," she told
rlm@2
126 her with a harder and sadness in her voice. She moved away from her
rlm@2
127 and started to walk to the priest, who was just grinning. She then
rlm@2
128 couldn't take it anymore and ran right into him; they both fell over
rlm@2
129 in the sand, which had by then been permeated with water and had
rlm@2
130 begun to turn to mud. The priest looked up to what pushed him over,
rlm@2
131 and saw that it was the black haired girl. He just grinned: he could
rlm@2
132 get rid of her sooner than he had thought.
rlm@2
133 "Well, well, what do we have here? It looks like someone wants die
rlm@2
134 today," he thought. He got up, grabbed his sword and made another one
rlm@2
135 appeared in his other hand.
rlm@2
136 "So you want to play has well? Come on then, my dear," he snarled to
rlm@2
137 her.
rlm@2
138 Nakia slow got up, the rain and wind was now at its peak: the eye of
rlm@2
139 the storm was approaching, that much was obvious. She couldn't stand
rlm@2
140 straight because of the ferocity of the wind. She then felt someone
rlm@2
141 holding onto her. She looked to her side and saw Ramla looking up at
rlm@2
142 her with a smile and nodded. Nakia just nodded back: they both turned
rlm@2
143 to the priest with their eyes flashing white as his glowed black.
rlm@2
144 The thunder roared on in the background, but through the thunder
rlm@2
145 you could hear a song. They looked around trying to find out were it
rlm@2
146 was coming from. Ramla then spotted it: it was the phoenix. She was
rlm@2
147 on top of a nearby column and her red eyes were glowing with such
rlm@2
148 power that it started to scare them both. She was going to kill him:
rlm@2
149 first he killed the pharaoh, and the wanted to kill her human and her
rlm@2
150 human's lover. She spread her wings high into the air and started to
rlm@2
151 grow to a monstrous size until she was about as big as a dragon. The
rlm@2
152 flames coming off her were causing rays of light to break through the
rlm@2
153 clouds all around them. She cried out into the storm then she took
rlm@2
154 off and shot two golden feathers at the priest.
rlm@2
155 He was looking right at the phoenix in shock: he started to shake,
rlm@2
156 then he saw the two feathers coming right at him, and the gigantic
rlm@2
157 bird was right behind them. He flinched away in anticipation of the
rlm@2
158 blow but in never came. The feathers went past him to the two females
rlm@2
159 that were looking on. The bird flew behind them and landed.
rlm@2
160 "What is going on, the power coming from them is so great that it
rlm@2
161 making my head spin," he wondered.
rlm@2
162 Ramla and Nakia watched the phoenix grow and shot something at
rlm@2
163 them. They could feel a power in them and it kept on growing: then
rlm@2
164 the two feathers stopped right in front of them and the gigantic
rlm@2
165 firebird land behind them. The two feathers started to change into
rlm@2
166 two beautiful swords. Both swords had the symbol of Ra on them and a
rlm@2
167 white flower going spiraling all the way down the polished steel
rlm@2
168 blades.
rlm@2
169 Ramla and Nakia closed their eyes and held out heir hands: it was as
rlm@2
170 if the swords were calling to them. The two swords disappeared from
rlm@2
171 where they were floating in the air and then reappeared in their
rlm@2
172 hands. The dragon-like phoenix covered them with its wings. Then a
rlm@2
173 flash of flames came from within the wings: it was so bright that the
rlm@2
174 priest had to shield his eyes, as did Neith. Then it died down and
rlm@2
175 the bird removed its wings: and there stood Ramla and Nakia in
rlm@2
176 Egyptian princess dresses with the symbol of Ra on their foreheads
rlm@2
177 and their eyes glowing eerily white.

180 A/N- I hope everyone like this chapter, the next chapter will be
rlm@2

181 about Ramla and Nakia as they take on the high Priest of Anubis. Oh
rlm@2
