rlm@0: This is a custom order commissioned by Dr. McIntyre for a hunting resort in Oklahoma, as a gift for the owner of the resort. The dog is a German Shorthair, and this order was painted from a photograph of an actual dog. Each stroke of the brush must be in the direction and length of the hair to achieve a realistic likeness. The shadows in the painting are created by applying a very thin coat; the artist has only one chance to do it correctly.
