6 This is the 1994 entry by Judy Yates -- it is a mated pair of Canadian Geese, with a lone goose wandering towards the wind-blown lake in the background. It is Judy Yates first entry for the Contest. The photo which served as inspiration for the painting was taken on a fishing trip when she lived in Colorado. Judy lived in Colorado from 1988 to 1992. She flew to Washington, D.C. for the judging ceremony. Although the location of judging is now in a different city each year, she plans to return again -- this time to claim her victory.
