rlm@421: This file gives an overview on what you will need to do to create a
rlm@421: bibliographic database for references, as well as create the actual
rlm@421: bibliography for your thesis.
rlm@421:
rlm@421: You should not need to touch the file biblio.tex. This merely tells
rlm@421: latex to look for the file with the bibliographic info. The file you
rlm@421: want to edit is main.bib. For each entry, use the appropriate style
rlm@421: as designated in the file.
rlm@421:
rlm@421: Citing your references:
rlm@421:
rlm@421: When you cite a reference, you need to use the ``key'' you declare in
rlm@421: main.bib for the entry. No one ever sees the keys, but you'll want to
rlm@421: use something you will easily remember. For instance, if you had an
rlm@421: entry with:
rlm@421:
rlm@421: key=geer1
rlm@421:
rlm@421: Then you would use \cite{geer1} to reference it within your thesis.
rlm@421:
rlm@421: NOTE: You can not include references in your bibliography that are
rlm@421: never cited in your paper by default. If you need to do this, create a
rlm@421: key for the entry and at the end of your thesis include the line:
rlm@421:
rlm@421: \nocite{key}
rlm@421:
rlm@421: This should be done for every entry which is not explicitly cited.
